 We used to get the Sears and Roebuck Christmas catalog and mark the pages with the items we wanted for Christmas. Anything made by Mattel or Marx was going to be under the tree. We had plastic little army men with small tanks, green for the good guys and tan for the evil Germans. We had video games that were played on the TV that came out right after Pong. We had foot ball games that required you to set up the men on the metal field and put the little felt football in the runner's hands and you turned on the game to vibrate the little runner. we had chemistry set and wood burning electric irons that looked like a soldiering irons. We had 8 track players. We had Atari, Colleco vision, then Nintendo the original. Dman, I am old...... :D

Mine was a 1/32 scale track, it was cool as a moose. Ever looked at any ScaleTrax (think that's right) stuff in 1/32? Very nice looking stuff, have models from F1 to rallye, Neckcar to sports car.

one thing that sucks for me as a kid. my brothers wear 8 and 10 years older than me. so i could not pick on them much. and if i tried to push one i got pushed in to the wall and some time it would nock pictures off the wall.

i remember one time i crashed my bike and busted up both knees and still rode around for a few hours. i also spent allot of time in the pool. we got a pool when i was 3 i think. or maybe i was 5.

edit: and no i did not take swimming lessons! when mom and dad wear building the deck around the pool they had to stop a few time because i would fall in.

I'm almost embarrassed that I remember the names of the Turtles.

But I don't remember the rat or the other two characters.. only other character I remember was Shredder.

    Ahh.. Splinter!

The other two weren't in the movies and I wasn't into the show. It really was after my time, but my stepdaughter was born in '79 so I was exposed to the Turtles, He-Man, She-Ra, ML Pony, Cabbage Patch, and some of the other stuff that Gen-Xers grew up with.

I had the real tonka truck as well and I remember playing in the dirt and having a blast. Bro and I would run towards each other and slam them head on. Gosh I miss the old days.

Ya, Tonkas were the Toyotas of toy trucks.
You couldn't hurt them if you tried... but they could hurt you.

Can't count the number of times I got pinched fingers and cuts from those trucks. But it was all good.
    Tonka taught me that...
    Pain is fleeting
    Blood? I'll make more
Moving a dirt pile across the back yard with Tonkas? FUCKING WORTH IT!

But I had a camper that was a "BuddyL" brand. It was pretty durable. Pickup was powder blue and of course the camper was white. I don't even remember if it was a Ford or Chevy pickup.
