Although when I get a Ruger 10/22 Gatling gun built I'll patrol my house with that. :infantry:

For all you guys out there saying you'll just lay down lead till they stop moving; don't forget each bullet is a lawsuit. Don't miss and don't waste.

Not to be a jackass; but that is retarded. There are very few pistols that will give you one shot kills 100% of the time.

Again it all comes back to the operator. IF the person using the tool is skilled enough they can do beautiful work with tools that average people can barely handle. Pick your tool and be an expert with it.

Once you become an expert you will see that the tool is just that; a tool.

Yeah, I got it man. It's like I've said before, it's a tool box. By your rationale, you wouldn't use a BMW to go off-roading or haul equipment. The BMW outperforms when it's used in its ideal setting, as does the Tacoma.

My point (and yours) is that a tool is only as good as the operator. So as long as you practice good fundamentals of marksmanship, proper shot placement, and recoil control, caliber becomes a moot point. The tool will do what you tell it to, regardless of size.

Exactly. I'm pretty well trained and practiced with Infantry weapons. I have no issues standing my ground with a 9mm or 45ACP. Given my freedom of choice now I have standardized my pistols on 45ACP. One caliber to stockpile/purchase is better than 2 IMO. Should I get the spare money I probably will pick up a 9mm; but for now I'm focusing on the task at hand. The zombies are coming... are you ready?

Coonan is making them again also. I think it would be a neat gun; not a combat gun.

9mm will knock down your target as well plus the ammo is way cheaper.

Do you want to have to take multiple shots to stop something or one? If you want one shot than go .45.

"9mm: more rounds in the mag = more rounds down range quicker = more rounds on target. "

How many rounds does your mag hold? Just wondering

My glock 21 (.45 cal) the standard clip holds 13 rounds of .45. I have heard the more round argument but with glock clips hold 13 rounds pretty tough to beat 13 rounds of 230 grain .45. Or you could go extended mag and hold 28 rounds. haha

I was told from a Marine who spent a few tours in Irag. He said on multiple occasions guys using 9 mm have to shoot multiple times to kill someone whereas the .45 were majority of the time 1 shot.

I have no doubt about that; but x>50% is not the same as x=100%. It just isn't; and as far as "knocking someone down" people need to quit watching TV and go start shooting stuff.

MY ALL TIME FAVORITE IS MY 1911, SO YOU KNOW MY VOTE. UNTIL YOU SAID HOME DEFFENSE I WOULDNT GO AGAINST A 9MM, I'VE GOT A COUPLE AND I SPENT FOUR YEARS AS A MARINE CORPS PISTAL COACH SHOOTING THE M9. BUT FOR YOUR HOME, SHOOTING A 9MM MAY GO OUT OF YOUR HOME AND INTO A NEARBY HOUSE. WITH THE .45 ITS NOT GOING TO DO THAT. I WOULD ALSO SAY .40, IT REALLY IS THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS AND I REALLY DONT WORRY ABOUT COST OF AMMO, I HAVE GUNS THAT COST WAY MORE THAN EITHER OF THEM. BUT GO .45 ALL THE WAY.

Lol at all the ".45= one shot kill" comments. If your that fucking good then why not carry something smaller, lighter, and cheaper? The rational of some people just blows me away...

Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one and they all stink!

.45 acp for sure. I shot all three (9mm, .40, .45 acp ) compacts before I purchased mine for my CCW. 9 was o.k, .40 tried to spin ont of my hand, .45 way smoother recoil than I was expecting. The others try and come up after a shot where the .45 comes straight back. Plus, the .45 round makes the 9mm round look like a kids round. :D

    S&W M&P .45 compact.

I settled on 9mm because of the cost and the fact my wife and daughter shoot very well with it. :)
