    3 inch OME lift kit, rear diff breather mod, cb install, sliders, brute force fab front end.
    Man..the search option is great. I had a group of die hard jeep and dodge owners swear I needed the ultimate lift kit. Then a voice of reason mentioned the OME setup on toytec. This helped me make up my mind.

    I absolutely love my OME kit...highly recommend it...I was on the fence for a while and changed my mind a couple of times...this kit is easy to install and I even got 2.7" up front without top plate spacers. The ride is still close to factory and my alignment was easy to get to spec on factory UCA's

    Congrats.
    I finally got around to taking the sway bar off. I wasn't sure about taking it off completely since I have a 280 mile/week commute, but I knew it would be better off road. I took it off for a trail run on Sunday and it worked great, more flex & smoother ride. On road it leans a little more in the turns but it's a truck and I drive it like one (not a sports car), mine is staying off and I would recommend removal to others. Try it you'll like it.

    To start, I have a 2012 tacoma access cab trd off-road. I am interested in lifting 2-3" and know very little about the process (other than the mass amounts of information I have read so far). I have a sungtop canopy on the back and plan on towing an 18ft aluminum jetboat (~3500lbs).
    Would the ultimate toytec lift or the OME suspension lift be better for hauling a boat? What problems might I experience? Will one setup sag more than the other under-load and once un-attached? Will towing a boat with a lift affect alignment?

    If you were to set each kit up (it looks like there are options on the toytec website for each setup) what would you get? 885 for the OME because of canopy and towing? 884 because it is an access cab?

    Aside from hunting, fishing and camping, this is my daily driver, and I don't want the lift to overly affect it. It looks like toytec is simple enough to install, but OME requires some work. What should I expect to pay for a shop to completely install the OME setup with UCA's? Is it worth paying $100 to have OME's assembled?

    I plan on getting UCA's from total chaos or toytec to avoid future problems.

    One more question. If I were to get new wheels and tires such as the procom 7089's with 265/70R17's, would you install both the lift and wheels at the same time and immediately get things aligned?

    Give it a try on a weekend, take it out and test drive it. If you don't like it you can put it back on before you go back to work.

    As far as towing goes, I would be more concerned about the rear lift. Mine is an '06, and my rear springs (no TSB) with an AAL buckled under a half a face cord of firewood. I went with the OME rear Dakar springs, now a face cord to a face and a half is very managable. I also run a cap all winter.

    Ergo...I would think about going with a whole leaf pack instead of just an AAL. I am VERY happy with the Dakars. There is an AAL offered by OME to add to their springs if that doesn't do it for you.

    As far as the front goes, I went with the ToyTec coilovers due to the adjustability. It came in handy when I added my ARB bumper with a winch.

    Good luck with your choice.:D

    Cost I can't help you with, the shop that installed my lift traded labor with me.

    I went with Light Racing UCA's because they have the booted ball joints and I do alot of salt and snow.
