Suspension TSB worth getting?? I say YES!!!

Fully loaded within an inch from the bed rails with dirt. I don't know how much that weighs, but it dropped my back end something fierce. Great thing about is was that after my wife and her very big "little" brother got in and we drove to dump the dirt the ride was still good. We even went off road down a washboard dirt trail and didn't bottom out or feel like we were overloaded at all. And the 2.7 surprisingly had plenty of power to carry all the weight.

For anyone who is on the fence about getting the suspension TSB done this should be proof positive that it is totally worth it.

 

That's a lot of weight even with the TSB.

But yeah, I highly recommend it. I got mine knowing I'd be loading mulch every year. When we first got the mulch - was a full scoop and it could've held more. No way in hell the other springs could've handled a scoop of mulch.

 

I'm not sure why you WOULDN'T get it done...if you can. I didn't notice any difference in the ride, it doesn't cost anything and makes your truck able to safely haul heavier loads.


You're going to be pissed if you find a big box full of heavy gold someday and you can't haul it home because you didn't get the TSB done!

 

i tried and toyota told me to wait for the 09 tsb and my two local dealers told me no as well, so i just bought the deaver leaf pack.

 

I think they add the part about the "Firmer Ride" in the TSB to try to get people to think twice and possibly change their minds. I think the ride quality got way better after the TSB.


bajamoon you might want to call Toyota corporate directly and get then to OK it. That is what My service adviser ended up doing. If he hadn't of called them then I would have and then I would have let the service adviser know I was not bringing any more work to his shop. Whatever hoops you need to jump through, they are worth it.

 

i did and they told me to call my local dealer and they said no, long dtory short no tsb. not that big of a deal, just enough reason to get my deaver leafs.

 

Had it done to improve towing and hauling, the improved handling was a pleasant surprise.
