My vote is for a Sunday in early April, looks like snow is still coming down. Went for a drive out to chilliwack today and took the road up to Cultus lake and there was snow on that road, nothing bad, but enough that one car had to be towed out. Looking forward to some trails, glad we are getting lots of interest. Picking up a hi lift next week and some tow straps so I will be ready!

I was out in Mission picking up my rims and looked like the snow cap was pretty high.

Theres a post that says Sylvester (Stave lake) is clear right now to a pretty high altitude way above lil Iraq gravel pit. Ill try to confirm that, could be a possibility.

So i guess options are April 1st/8th depending on conditions.

8th is better. Could probably make the 1st work, maybe start a poll?

I'll be away for Easter weekend but I can always catch the next one if it works well for everyone else.

Sylvester is usually busy on the weekeneds, I'll say becareful up there cause I've seen people shooting across the roadways up there, and the trials get pretty tight for those concerned about scratching up the paint.

With that said I'm down to come out and help lead the way since I've been up sylvester and both sides of harrison.

Do you have any recomendations bluesteel? I only know of so many trails. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Also heard Morris Valley/Weaver Creak

Chehalis is closed at 31km because of a slide but I think thats a harder trail.

I've only gone as far as those three, and i go by my backroads map book(second edition) and a close friends recommendation. like you I'm on bc4x4 and read as much as i can before heading out. Sylvester is a good starting point though as well as both sides of harrison so really it comes down to where want to go and how long the day is going to be.

I'd be interested on coming over for a trail run. But has to be on a long weekend so it's worth the 100$ bucks for the ferry. Might be interested in camping....

This for me too -- keeping an eye for specific information so I can make some firm decisions...looks like fun...especially if stock rigs can make it!!

Yep, you'll have no problem with a stock 4x4. I have a prerunner with a locker.
Got a tow strap, getting shakles and a tire patch kit.

So it sounds like the 15th is the best bet already. If you guys want to do another Tim's meet up Im down for that. Maybe early April.

The Bellevue mod day is going to be delayed. If the new date works, ill be going down for the day.

I'm in for the 8th or 15th as long as it's not a gnarly or tight trail. I need bigger tires and body armor before I get into the mid level trails.

The 15th will work just fine. It sounds like we will be sticking to same tame trails for the most part so I believe nobody will have any difficulty. I'd love to meet at Tim's in the near future to meet some people before the ride since I missed the last one.

Apologies for asking what may be a really stupid question - but I am thinking of making this trip and wanted to ask -- are CB's illegal/license required in Canada? Are FRS (Motorola Talkabouts) illegal in Canada? I really don't want to sound like some dipshit but curious and thought WTF - no stupid questions....maybe??

    Thanks!!

49r's -- checking your build thread -- great truck & really LOVE that bed hole light!!!

Thanks Tim. If you like mine you'll love the other trucks we have up here. Going to actually rebuild that light, putting a plastic frame around it. Theres a How To around somewhere.

No CB's and radios are perfectly legal. If I had the cash Id get one myself. If I find a good deal I might pick one up.

What date works for you Koby. Just throw out a date, Saturday March 31st for Tims.

If you guys wanna try harrison, I suggest we leave early since most of us live close to vancouver. Ive gone to sylvester a few times, I didnt see many good trails unless you wanna go deep into the bushes. Davis lake is in there tho, looks like a nice spot.

Busy day on Saturday but I'd be in for Sunday evening if that works for anyone. Actually, I could probably do a Saturday morning on the 31st as well.

I have been to Davis lake before in the summer time and with some. Careful driving stock trucks can make it in there. I'd be excited to go there again. Check out My photo section there are a couple shots and I can upload some more if anyone would like more eye candy to get them stoked :p
