is your radio 2.5ghz or is it 27mhz radio?

does this happen intermittently or is it constant?

It is the 27 MHz factory radio. The revo is all stock.

It is intermittent as in that during the time it takes to burn a tank of fuel, I can count on losing control of the throttle/brake about 5-10 times temporarily. This of course means I can't go fast with it because it will just run away and hit something. I never lose the steering, so if I am going slow enough I can avoid hitting stuff.

I was having problems with this on the 3.3 TMaxx I was working on/playing with today. It's got something to do with the opti-drive bullshit. It's either a bad connection or weak batteries. Not really sure.. I plan on doing some research on this.

That's where I'd start. But, this seems that the steering would also be affected. Do you happen to have another set you could try?

I'm glad my T-Maxx is one of the original ones without the Opti-drive, hell I removed the reverse function because it sucked

Also, I've got a sweet vid of my day of bashing the 3.3 Jato and 3.3 Tmaxx. I really, really, like these motors... When they run. A friend kind of just followed me around all day and got a lot of video. Went to the city park/baseballs fields etc, speed runs on my street, and some laps around the track. May take a while to upload because it's 1080p.

If the opti-drive worked ALL THE TIME I would probably go buy a tmaxx or revo like.. tomorrow. BUT that's not the case.

To add some info/detail to mine and mxboy's problem, I think that the issue is definitely either batteries or a bad connection. The steering servo works fine, and the others servos work WHEN the opti-drive box is working correctly. The lights on it were flashing and doing weird shit, which tells me that little box is "confused". I found that I could take the lid off and sort of wiggle the wires around and that would fix it sometimes. Can't really be sure, though.

I do have another set of crystals I could try, but they are even older than the ones for the revo. They are in my old Nitro Rustler. I'll try it out tomorrow.

I don't think crystals are the problem.

The sensor in your opti-drive is probably dirty. You can either unplug it or take it out and clean. Search youtube or google for methods on how to do either.

Well I did kind of a mini overhaul of the Slash today. It didnt feel very smooth so I replaced all of the wheel bearings. Also re-installed the Savox servo. Went ahead and installed the Castle bec too. It still needs a major cleaning lol.

turns out my cc bec is trash. So I yanked it and plugged the red wire for the esc back in and tried it out. I underestimated the Toro's internal bec. Its absolutely perfect no glitching at all. even took it outside for a couple of runs to make sure lol.

Haha.. Well, I already have a Jato . . . But that T-Maxx was SO much fun.. I've decided I really like monster trucks and if I ever got one it would most likely be nitro.. I still don't like traxxas, though.
