You're going to be disappointed in me

    I got the 17-40L

I have a Flickr  I am having trouble logging into it though, it's saying something about 2 different emails using it or whatever, kinda irritating. I need to fix it so I can use it though.

I'll play with the exposure a little bit!

:( I don't disagree that I wouldn't have loved it as well. If I'm not absolutely 100% satisfied I'll sell it and try the Sigma out. :)

I have a feeling I'm going to love it just as much as I did when I played with it in the store though. I know I would like the Sigma as well, cause I love my current Sigma

I'm just saying that the 2.8 would have been a way better choice.

But it's cool. Have fun with your "L" lens..

    So anyways...

There I was right up against the stage last night with my D700 and Nikkor 70-200 2.8 when everyone start moshing!!! I was scared for my cameras life!! Then the singer shook up a "near" beer and sprayed it on everyone and it got on my camera!!

But the show was still bad ass!! And I got a guitar pick from the bassist and shook the lead singers hand :D

yah, concert photography is hazardous... previous concerts that i have worked, they put press box behind the crowd and we used 300 to 600mm lenses...

i once shot a Manson concert and he grabbed a beer from someone up front, downed it, spit it out into the crowd... for that one, i was on a press box and ladder about 10 feet from stage... had to switch out camera and body for the rest of the gig... i then moved to the press box towards the side to stay out of line of fire... glad i brought both cameras that night... haha...

It looks really soft and I agree that perhaps a higher or lower angle would have worked better (or had you been lucky and been 50' ahead of the vehicle shooting down on it). Needs a bit of pop too. Maybe contrast adjustment/levels-that kind of thing.

The thing that works though is carnage.
