There were a few racing them at the track and would break as easily as my jammin scrt10. they didn't like the handling as much either. most people are switching to the losi ten-scte if you are referring to the short course trucks.

I like them, the next R/C I buy will be either there nitro buggy or truggy

The DESC410 is pretty much a race only vehicle. Its based off of their 1/10 4wd buggy. The platform is well proven. To run the truck you need saddle packs or two shorty pack wired parallel, and you have to use Durango wheels because, TD uses 15mm hexes since the arms are very long on the DESC410

The Durango SC truck needs to be "driven" in order for it to handle well. But when you drive it right it is one of the fastest trucks out there

That can be said about any car. racing at hot rod hobbies every tuesday and talking to the drivers that race week in and week out. The durango can be fast in a pros hands of course. But these racers don't just race their cars once or twice. Not one has said they like the durango over their older car. My friend matt who raced one wish he never sold his scrt10 for the durango. It's just not as stable and durable. Doesn't compare to a losi, associated or even the fragile jammin. Not talking smack on it at all. Just have first hand experience with racing against them.

I am even switching to the losi. I have put so much money and time into my scrt10 it has been hard to give up on it. I have even made a custom overtray for it.

The most fun I have had racing is driving my losi xxx-sct. Handles great, really stable and durable.

but there has been plenty of regular joes out there on RCTech and RCShortcourse who were turning faster lap times with the Durango.

Generally the people who like Durango's cars already have one or all of them

If anybody has a question about the DESC410 either Randy Pike or Ryan Lutz (both pro drivers) will share any setups or answer any questions.

^^^That some really nice paintwork. Looks sweet.

The reason I want a monster truck is the ground clearance and wheelies. I noticed that the TMaxx I was driving yesterday cornered surprisingly well (low-ish center of gravity and wide frame helps) And I didn't ever flip it over by doing a wheelie, thanks to the wheelie bar. (it's a must, really). And it will really go anywhere. Just point and gas. The only time I was flipping it was when I didn't land a jump just right. And it didn't stall at all except for when it landed on it's top really hard.

The starter box is pretty good and the radio is decent. Having the radio with it would be convenient sometimes, in that I don't care to let some of my more experienced friends drive my stuff.

The RTR comes with the 2.4ghz radio. And I already have like 6 or 7 NiMH pack.

Now I just need money....

    ^^^ Thanks.

The reason the stock savage stalls is the gas tank design. Not the best. I put the other tank on mine and it doesn't do it as easily.

I really wish everyone in this thread could just meet at a track, drink beer, and drive R/C's. To me, that would be a badass day.

This is "the shelf" in the "man cave" right now.

I have a pic of my work area somewhere... but I'm too embarrassed to post it.
Hell, I'll try to find it.

That's nice. A friend has the lime green version and put some kind of traxxas rear drive shaft mod that he can switch between 4wd and front wheel drive with an extra servo. Allows the front wheels to pull it up over obstacles. Really fun to drive it.
