side mirror vibration on 2011

My driver side mirror was vibrating so i tightened all three torx screws on the outside. They got a little rounded out. I noticed the one that is exposed is starting to rust a little. Does anyone know if theirs are rusting as well? Is this something to even worry about-will probably rust over time anyways. I tried to buy three replacement screws, but they come as part of the whole mirror assembly. I posted in the other forum asking if anyone would sell them to me from their damaged mirror. I know it's nitpicky, but the truck only has 3500 miles on it!

 

I just checked mine. Same mileage as yours. No rust. You could always spray it with rustoleum if it really bothered you.

 

reminds me i need to check mine. they move a little when the bass hits. lol and i don’t even have subs yet. i’ll see if they are rusty. be back in 5.

edit: i only see 1 on each side. no rust. other 2 must be behind the little trim cap or what ever.

 

Thanks for checking. You are correct that the other two are behind the plastic cover. Wonder where I can get a replacement from. Just irritating that it's basically new and rusting!

 

ok. idk take a pocket knife go to a wrecking yard. ask to “look around” lol no don’t but do go see if them have a taco in and get one or both.may or may not with it be so small. but can’t be to much. dealer it’s prob not that much either.

edit: mine is a ’07 with 36k.

 

Unfortunately the dealer doesn't sell them separately. They come as part of a whole assembly.

Anyone else experiencing rust on the exposed mirror screw on an earlier year other than 2011?
