but ya know, with the rear axle being that much wider, it might look off if your front end isn't as wide as the back...

Over the weekend, I installed a set of axle relocation plates to move the rear 3/4" towards the back. No more rubbing on the fender flare.

I recently removed my hood bug guard, and noticed a gap between the hood and grille surround, and looking at pictures it looks like most have some weatherstripping in that spot. Is there supposed to be weatherstripping there or do people add this on their own?

It used to be my dads truck so I have no idea if the people that screwed the damn thing in tore out some stripping to get it on.

I guess I now need weatherstripping :pout:

Anyone happen to know if I need to get some toyota part no. stripping or is generic the same thing?

Edit: browsed around and apparently I need some clips as well that go where the bug guard screws went into?

Found some on toyotapartscheap.com and dang the total with all the stripping and clips is $75. The diagram only shows 2 clips total needed, so I assume that is correct? And two pieces of stripping? (inner and outer)

Mine has 10 clips on the front stripping and 6 on the shorter inner stripping.

Stopped by Addicted Offroad today and picked up a few... things. :spy:

And had my skid plate remounted while I was there. I was originally using the OEM crossmember to mount the budbuilt, but it was hanging too low so it's now remounted to the bumper crossmember. Looks a lot better!

Question for the first genners. I'm going to buy coilovers soon but wondering who has experience with the 2.5 sway-a-way and the icon. Just not sure which ones to get. Theyre going on a 96 reg cab. I've heard different things about both just wondering what you guys know about them. Yes I've used the search function -_-

I'm making a trip to a junk yard in about a week and I'll see if the weather stripping is useable off the '04 they have there if it is then you pay shipping and cost for part, I'd guess about a dollar, and you can have it.

I've been running the 2.5's from Camburg for over 3 years now, they ride great. I went with the 700# coils, but i've got a double cab with a front bumper.

What specifically do you want to know about them?

Your the guy I went to Pismo with right?? Just got my Icons on but I'm waiting on a new set of springs. Even with a lot of preload they still did really well off road though so my vote is for Icon!

I go with the SAWs over the Icons. The icons have a specific type of coil that makes them ride rougher then most at low speeds. Unless your going full LT and gonna go fast..then they are great.

    :spy: hehehehe..

    and remounted the front one??

Keep in mind, he also has fender flares on his truck so if they were taken off, the tires would appear to be out even further, probably almost all the way out past the body. Just like if you installed flares on yours, the tires would appear to be further inwards and not so far out and vice versa as explained.

But yeah, still pretty close nonetheless with the spacers and backspacing. ;)

There was an awkward gap as it mounted to the OEM crossmember

Sits flush against the bumper crossmember now.
