2012 NCAA Football Thread

It's actually a 3 year extension. His contract was supposed to be up in 2013. It surprised me. I thought they would wait until they saw what happens next year. Should have had a statement in the contract saying he gets an extension only if he fires Bobo.

Oh well. We'll have to rely on our defense again next year.

Did I say defense? Cuz apparently we don't have any DBs.

Sanders Commings - Domestic Violence/Simple Battery - Suspended for the first 2 games at least

Branden Smith - Pot - Marijuana arrests have a mandatory suspension for UGA "student-athletes" of 10% of the competition dates, which would be 1 game, but the coach can decide if they want a longer suspension.

Brandon Boykin - Graduated

Jakar Hamilton (Once was a starter) - Transferred

Jordan Love - Transferred

Chris Sanders and Nick Marshall - Kicked off the team for stealing money from a teammates dorm.

So yea, we don't have any DBs, apparently. Oh, and we still have Bobo, have I mentioned that? And the most fragile RB in the nation.

DWald, did AU get anything with the hiring of Uncle Rico or not? I've read, but hell, the pundits thought Roof was good, (I still maintain JoPa died when he found out they were going after him). So what's the take from your view?

 

Absolutely. I think we got him in 2000 or 2001, can't remember which. But I remember reading somewhere that during his time at UGA, (which wasn't long, he left us for the NFL in '04), his defense gave up 30+ points one time, which was against LSU, I think in an SECCG. I think you've got a heck of a DC. I was upset when he left. Left us with Willie Martinez.

 

So, not so much love for Willie, AU got him as well, (DB's) I think. But hell, I could coach better than there last DB coach.

 

He started out decent, then all of a sudden his defenses forgot how to tackle and he was making stupid play calls. I don't' know what the deal was. The way everyone is callin for Bobo to be fired now is the way we were all calling for Willie to be fired a few years ago.

 

Tackle, what the fuck is that??? You must not have watched any Auburn football other than the shoeshop GA. built in there' ass. They couldn't tackle me, and I'm a old fat fuck.. So, you think they got one, and a half-assed other one?

OK, guys... Let's learn how to count...

If the contract he signed is through the 2016 season, then it's for the next five years/seasons (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016).

From what I understand, he was already signed through the 2013 season, so it's actually only an extension of 3 years (2014, 2015, 2016).

I don't believe that... I have a buddy who got his engineering degree at MSU. Y'all may not play football very well, or make the NCAA tourney in basketball, but I know you can count.

State has a great engineering program, I think 15% or so students are in it.

As for me I'm Biological Sciences so numbers don't matter to me as much

Thinking about changing my major to college football

 

I'm going for forestry so counting won't be a job requirement. I already plan on hitting up every home game possible and making any road games I can.

 

Well I guess I won't be going to the spring game after all. Headed to Charlotte for that weekend for some sort of shin dig for my step-daughter at Johnson and Wales for "Wildcat weekend" to acquaint parents and student with the college.

And for those of you paying attention, yes I have an 18 year old step-daughter going off to college and have my first child on the way. I know, I know....................but I'm excited!

 

You couldn't get her to go to your university of choice? Shame on you.

 

Apparently Johnson and Wales is one of the top culinary arts schools. She loves cooking and I'm benefiting from it. So I can't complain.

Haha...I'll be honest...I dind't watch much AU football. But I was present at the UA/UGA game... And yes...you got one and a half coaches. Haha.

Yea, I think you guys will be our first real test this season. But, I wouldn't be surprised if we have some stupid loss before we play y'all.
