Over size tires

I bought 285/75/r16 tires for 2009 tacoma 4x4 trd like and idiot without researching enough. l I put a two inch leveling kit in front. the tires are still rubbing on the inner frame when I turn com. 1.5 spacers don't fit due to hitting outer frame. Will these tires work if I put a 3 inch lift? 4in. Or am i screwed with this tire size?

 

if its only hitting the frame you need to do the cab mount chop

285's typically wont fit regardless of lift without some trimming.

 

I had a 3" lift with 1.25" spacers with a 3" spacer up front, still rubbed my fenders. thats when i got the all pro fenders. solved most of the problem. Im sure you could get away with trimming because it really wasn't a lot after the 3" spacer.

 

You need more backspacing

I believe you mean less backspacing. Less back space brings the mounting surface closer to the back of the rim.

 

How can you change the back spacing

 

get different wheel. you can move the tire out with spacers but the back spacing is the gonna be the same

 

i'm assuming you're using the stock wheels. my buddy has a similar setup. he was able to clear everything with spacers and doing the cab mount chop. it's real simple to do. just find a buddy that can weld.

 

that's awesome dude! i chopped mine the other day & i'd like to weld the covers on sometime. sweet!

 

Talk to James at "The Truck Shop" on Miramar road about the cab mount chop. They did mine and it wasn't too expensive.
