Hey guys. I installed a ome lift kit on my 2010 4x4 this past weekend. It seemed fine and no problems and no vibes or clunks. I dont have the top plates in for the full 3inches. I have 2.5 up front. Everything seemed and no vibes or clunks. Got my alignment this morning and now I have a clunk. I didnt have them before the alignemt but now I do. Its weird. How come after it but before no? Its coming from the front end,The right passenge side I think. I have light racing ucas and have the axle shims. No dif drop or carrier bearling. When I shift from park to drive I get a small clunk and vibe and then when Im driving from 0 to 5 or 10mpg I get a clunk. Im not a mechanic tech so I dont no idea what it could be. Does it hurt to drive it?. Its my dd and dont want any problems or parts to break. He is my before and after alignment specs for you. Hope you guys can help me. Cant find anything on the threads to fix it. I have the dif drop but never installed it.

    Before the alignment specs

after the alignment. The specs seem to be good.

    Any help would be great.

The clunk from park to drive is normal and you probably had that pre-lift. I had/have a very slight vibe at low speeds but it was never bad so I never addressed it. It's a little bit of a judgement call on how bad the vibes need to be before you go chasing what's causing them. It is a mechanical system so some minor vibrations are fine. You want to make sure something is actually wrong and you're not just feeling things because you just redid your suspension and are picking up on everything that's a little bit different. Not saying you don't have an issue you should address but I doubt it's something that's dangerous to drive and you might not be able to get rid of it. As time goes on and you get a little mileage on the new lift, it might go away on it's own. Just my $0.02 but if it's a very minor vibration, I wouldn't worry about it just yet.

As far as the clunk, is it a certain speed, when turning, when going straight? I'd double check and make sure everything was tightened down after the alignment for starters.

Ok great thanks dude. I can go foward back left or right and it happens, When going 0 to 5 maybe 10 but thats it. Its not some quite clunk, its kind of loud and you can deff hear it. I dont know much about this stuff so but i will look under truck and see if i can see anything that looks bad. Ill let the lft settle for a few days while i drive it. If its still there maybe ill go to that wc offroad and see if they can see whats the problem. Im fine with vibes but this is loud clunk. Thanks

That clunk you'll need to get sorted out, that's not a good noise for a truck to make. I think you can rule out wheel bearings, I'd assume that would have been spotted when the lift was put on. I'd check to make sure everything got tightened down, just to make sure that clunk isn't a loose connection either on the LCA or the adjustment bolt on the UCA. If all the bolts are tightened down, you can do a quick check on the wheel bearings. You just jack up that corner and try to move the tire without shaking the whole truck. If there is play, you'll hear the bearing slopping around and the wheel will have some movement even though the truck is still. I'd check this just as a precaution, to make sure you can rule it out if all the other bolts are tightened down.

Hopefully one of the guys who worked on your front end will chime in, maybe they saw something when the lift was put on.

Ok dude I'll check that out after classes and see if I can see whats happening. I dont know how before the alignment it could be fine but now its not. There didnt take any parts off for it so its seems weird to me lol but ill check and see if i can find what is happening.

You're right, the guys at John's torqued them down but the shop would have loosened them for the alignment. To align a vehicle, you need to loosen the LCA bolts and the UCA adjustment bolt. If they didn't tighten one of them down, it'd explain the clunk.

Oh ok I see now. I didnt know that they had to do that for the alignment. I guess maybe that could be it. Thank god for you tacoma guys. It has to be it cause it didnt happen at 8am this morning but at 9 am I heard it. I'll check the ucas bolts when i get off of school. Do you know what bolt size they are the tighted it?? I dont have much tools so i might have to get one and tighted it. Thanks for the help dude.

I have the front passenger clunk too. Same setup. Ome with lr uca's. I only hear it when I have a passenger. I have removed the shock double checked everything twice and still can't find it. But I've been offroading with it and it holds up , so now I'm just living with it.

Yeah I have no clue. I've searched this site. I've jacked up the truck, took off the tire shook everything. I can't tell where its from. I hope to get Icons up front by November so maybe that'll solve it.

Check that UCA ball joint bolt. Its the big one up top, 1 1/4 " or like 34mm. The alignment shop may have loosened it to move it inward for your camber adjustment. 120 ft. lbs. Cant be sure though. Your alignment specs look good though. Wonder if the sway bar being off would matter. IDK.

I don't think so. I checked that and it clears it. The ucas doesn't hit the springs. Now the sound isn't as bad but still happens.

(1)Take it back to the alignment shop...alot of IFS front ends develop a clunk if the alignment numbers are not close to spec (lot of moving parts up there)...just have them check it again and see if the numbers are off.

    (2) check the brakes ...make sure they are not sticking for some reason

    (3) 4wd how are the cv angles

    (4) if all else fails turn radio up
