3.50ish here. I live 5 miles from work so it sucks but isn't a killer for me.

1.40/L in Vancouver, Canada. Equals about 5.30 a gallon. Also, keep in mind the dollar is roughly par. So quit complaining.

President Barack Obama’s Energy secretary unwittingly created a durable GOP talking point in September 2008 when he talked to The Wall Street Journal about the benefits of having gasoline prices rise over 15 years to encourage energy efficiency.
“Somehow,” Chu said, “we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe.”

...but at least he recanted that earlier today. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0312/73934.html

and btw about $4.27 around San Mateo County, CA. CNG conversion dialog looking interesting again.

Nope, not moving to Cali anytime soon.

Still a hair under 4 bucks in michigan. 350 miles still under $70 though I doubt that'll remain the case much longer.

1/2 the year we have custom "formulation" and additives so the majors can't brew our fuel with everyone elses. Not sure which 1/2 the year we're in right now.

Other reasons are taxes and cost of doing business (minimum wage requirements, insurance, environmental lawsuit bs, corporate taxes, land lease / ownership costs, and probably a lot more).

48 Hours ago gas was 108.9/L, jumped to 116.9/L yesterday.

I had read online that part of the reason why gas prices are so high in Canada is because of the the taxes that are tacked on them. I'm sure that's the same reason why they are so high in places like Vancouver, BC and in California.
