Sup everyone! I'm a recent Dodge man converted to Toyota. I just bought an '08 pre runner and am loving it so far. I plan on sucking this forum dry for any info that may help to make my truck as nice as the ones here!

Question ? does it ever get restrictive to live on an island ? like when the feeling strikes me I'll load up the truck and go for a drive, a few days later and maybe 700-800 miles later I'll be where I am at, if that makes sense ? You really cant do that there ? or can you ?

Yea, people here refer to it as "rock fever". If you grow up here it isn't a big deal because you don't know the difference. When we feel like you, we just go down and camp out at the beach...Maybe throw a few oples in the water ans see whats biting.

"Rock fever" is more noticeable to those who grew up on the mainland and spend a few years over here.

BUT the island that I'm from, I can go play in the snow up on the mountain, drive down to the beach and swim the rest of the day, then be home in time for dinner followed by some "pupu's and cold beer when we're done!!!!

That's cool ! I have never been and always wondered, I get itchy and need a LONG drive to a place I've never been to clear my system, it sucks when the feeling hits on a Wednesday and my boss is like "what ? where are you going ? how long ? what do you mean you don't know ?" :D

Nice. never made it over to Hilo but spent a week or so on the Kona side.

Was suppose to go back to Kauai after I finished school but never made it back (unfortunately).:(

Are there alot of places to wheel your truck on Oahu? On Kauai we used to be able to drive up and down the West side beaches looking for surf.:)

Lol, you must have a really cool boss!!!

Cool, maybe I'll run into you sometime!!

    Thanks alot!

Well you can always come back! I live in Honolulu now, not too many places to off raod here. That's why I opted for the Pre Runner. But if I ever make it back home to Hilo, a 4x4 is a must!! I miss off-roading!

    Thank you!
