This is my Thread on my build on my 2005 Toyota Tacoma PreRunner TRD.
I found my truck at Car Max in July 2010. The last vehicle I had before this was a 2004 Jeep Sahara. I loved the Jeep, but it became a money pit with transmission breaking and the rear U-joint popping off at 40 mph. My Jeep was payed off, I needed something to carry things for my house and my German Shepard. I came across this Truck from Roseville, California for $19,999 with only 23K miles at the time. So I sold my Jeep, and I also sold my 1967 Firebird Project Vehicle.

    The day I bought it..

The first thing I did, was remove those god awful looking Side steps(which if anyone is interested...PM me), I then went to America's Discount tires, order my Hankook Dynapro ATM's for $700.00.

This is how it sits right now. I also Plasti Dip the lower front bumper.

Back in December, my tailgate was stolen, reported it to Fresno PD, didn't do shit, but my insurance covered it, so here is the new tailgate. When I got the truck back from the shop, I kept the tailgate inside the house....until I gotten a POP&LOCK.

So before my 29th birthday, I gotten myself some early gifts for my truck, gotten the POP&Lock, thanks Nobile Truck Accessory Centers, that supplied it.

I then went to Pep boys that day to get me a AVS bug deflector, I know it looks funny looking, but I don't want to replace a windshield on a vehicle again!

Thanks guys, my next upgrade are the 5100's. BUT....I'm concern with the front shocks adjusted to the max...will it be even with the 5100 rear shocks?

Are you wanting to lift or just level?

I seen the video of this...but...I just wished they say that the rear 5100 can still be even with the front ride height...

It is my uneducated opinion that it would still be level since you aren't adding the extra AAL. Why not just buy the front billys only and keep the rear shocks stock? You'd save some cash that way too.

Use the 1.75" setting on the 5100's IMO.

    Good looking truck!

Thanks. Sucks that you sold the Firebird. That is one of my favorite classics.

I like it. The general consensus on most CAI's is that they make a pretty sound but the don't do much for power. That being said I'd have to agree but god I do love the noise when I open up the throttle. :D

So my tax return is almost here...going to order a Leer 100R with the sport package.

For wheels, I am going for a 16x8 American Racing ATX Artillery Wheel..I love my Hankooks Dynapro ATMS...can I set my tires on to these, or do I go and pay for a bigger tire...also do I need to change the gearing for a slightly bigger tire?

That week was the hardest week of my life. I worked on that car when I was 13...I still kick myself a little bit..Not to mention...it was a 400.

your current tires will work if you get the right backspacing on the wheels (4.5 inch backspacing is recommended) unless you plan on lifting your truck you don't need to go bigger on tires also you would only need to get new gears if you went with like a 35 inch tire but most common other members get 285/75/16 tires with their lift. hope this helped!
