I have a cutout right after the y pipe I made. I ran it with both sets of cats or cats/resonators and now with just the front "cats". It's loud as shit either way, I certainly wouldn't want that sound all the time.

And the only place my truck went today was down highway 17 to gander mtn. at river city and back up to fernandina.

Speaking of it, how's your boat coming along?

 

yeah..more and more guys are wearing them. they are called buffs actualy. they are like a sleeve kinda thing that slips over your head and are extremely lightweight and breathable.

right now the boat is at the shop getting the tower installed. then we get it back and do all of the electric work and then got to get a new trolling motor and wire that up. then she should be good to go..just in time for cobia season.

 

Interesting, I hadn't heard of them before. What's the purpose? Protection from the sun and wind?

Yeah a couple of times with Ryan(RMB_Crew) and a couple other guys(and girl ) actually. Nothing too technical but if you're looking for water, mud, and endless trails then it's your place.

 

looking to go this weekend.........but never been before.

As for the exhaust, i wouldnt dump it under the truck, but replace the muffler with a piece of pipe and still use the factory tailpipe outlet.

Yeah I haven't set the time aside to come on here in a while. I have been quite well, enjoying life back at home. How are things with you?

I'm sure it would sound different not bouncing between the truck and road but it will still be loud as hell. You're probably going to be curious if you don't do it so for the $30 or so that the muffler shop would charge you you could try it, it's not like it's permanent if you get annoyed by it. Or if you just wanted to get an idea of what it sounds like unbolt the exhaust from the y pipe to get an idea and run around for a little while. That's what I did before I got the cutout.

 

From my experience that's true. Although it has been quite dry lately I'm sure you'll still find some water crossings. Have you extended your rear breather yet?

It's cheap insurance, I think Ryan had water in his diff after we went there and he hadn't done the mod yet.

Not a bad idea, it would probably be good for mowing. I'll have to check them out. When you use it to cover your face can it also cover the back of your neck well? Thanks for letting me know about them.

 

If i were planning on going in water or deep mud i would def do the diff breather mod, damn cheap insurance.

 

you can get em online or at like gander and such. price is around 20 usually, unless you find a deal. tons of patterns. last pretty damn long too.
