i don't know of anyone in FL who make those, however 4xinnovations has dirt cheap shipping. shipping on my sliders was like $60.

 

Anyone out there have any suggestions as to palm tree removal/cut down? I am planning on using the truck to pull my palm out of my front planter, but then not sure how to go about chopping it up, what to use? I imagine a chainsaw would get all clogged up, my father-in-law say a sawzaw. What do you guys think.

Or does anyone know if there are companies out there that would pay for it and haul it out for me? So i dont have to pay to have it done.

 

Can't hurt to call a couple local nurseries and see if they want it. As you know those things are expensive so they might be able to sell it.

We sold 3 20'+ Washintonias to a local contractor when we were redoing our front yard

 

I was thinking about that, we have a nurserie not 2 miles down the street, might call them tomorrow and see what they think about the situation, if not, i will be heading to walmart to pick up a tow strap and come home and have some fun pulling that sucker out, then i have to figure out how to go abouts cutting it apart for disposal.

pulling it out isn't going to be that hard. The root ball on a palm is very small, the roots don't travel very far. If you do end up cutting it up, make it up into smaller slices that you can lift. The amount of water in the tree will make it very heavy.

 

I hate Washingtonia palms, one of my mom's neighbors nearly had one of theirs (around 30'+) fall on their house after a hurricane.

 

Yeah, i figured all that, cause if i do end up cutting it up, i want to be able to go toss it into the truck so i can go toss it into some woods somewhere. Just wasnt sure the best method for cutting it up.

Also remove some of the boots before you cut it up so it'll be a little easier to handle

 

Ours is only like 10-12 foot, just i dont have a green thumb, more of a black one, so we are going to turn our front planter into a nice seating area so it's gotta go, been thinking about it for the better part of 2 years now. Well, the wife is out of town for 2 1/2 weeks so i want to get it out and clean up the area before she gets back.

 

its better to get it out now, because Washintonia like to grow like fast and they can get to be about 50' tall

 

we have been here 4 years now and that thing has been growing very steady.

 

It shouldn't be that bad to remove it, just have some soil to fill the hole back in

 

I hate Washintonians..yeah call a nursery or did it out give it to a neighbor or something.I'm pretty good w/ a shovel if you need help.

 

Thats actually another benifit to removing it, i can use the excess sand/crap in the planter to fill the hole, then clean it up and fill it all in with some nice rocks of some sort.

 

I thought that was one of the many perks of owning a truck, i aint diggin nothin out, im gonna yank that sucker out!
