    Hey guys,

So I just got my truck aligned with the new suspension installed, which includes the following:

    Billstein 5100 shock
    Eiback coil spring
    Toytec aluminum top mount
    Toytec 1/4" taco lean spacer

I'm getting about 2.7 inches of lift and after the alignment truck runs smooth and straight. I had the plans of buying some total chaos or camburg UCA's for looks and function, but looking at my results I feel like I should waste the extra 500-700 to buy them and installation.

Here is my results, any advice or feedback on whether I should get some UCA's or not?

Please keep in mind I dont go off roading at all! Lol

I'm on a mobile device so can't copy paste URL until i get to a pc

if anything you should go with the light racing UCAs, they are affordable and do the job but you really dont need them. you answered your own question by saying it drives straight and stuff. for you the TC/Camburg ones will be no different than the light racing ones except that they will squeak and need maintenance

Thanks. I guess I really hate how the suspension looks right now with the stock UCA's. I love the TC and cam burg look! But would not get the most of them

I plan on getting UCS's when i get my toytec 3" ult. I was thinking of getting total chaos UCS's

I'd say go with some aftermarket ones just to be safe if you have the funds. Even though you dont off-road a lot, just the extra extension on the stock ones all the time from the lift just doesnt seem right.

I also forgot to mention I have Firestone lifetime alignment so I can go in whenever to get it aligned, which might defeat the purpose of getting aftermarket UCA since I don't off road?

I'd say still go with some aftermarket UCA's then you can still go back every once in a while and get the alignment checked.

No the LR ones require less maintenance. The ones with the ball joints require more maintenance.

    wait..... wut? lol

also, since its thread related and could help the OP.. the difference between ball joint and uniball? IIRC the uniball has more travel/articulation but can hit your coil? the ball joint is the opposite? im looking for new UCA's as well and am running a basic 3" kit. no pre running or anything for me. more slow crawling, trails, occasional sand dunes. what type would be best.. on a budget mind you.

The Uniball UCA's are the ones that require a lot more maintenance and could develop a squeek.

The Light Racing and Camburg Ball joint UCA's are not serviceable and have a sealed ball joint.

The Uniballs will allow for better articulation and I believe the Camburgs have a known problem of hitting the coil on occassion. I don't recall hearing about issues with any of the other uniball UCA's hitting the coils.

If you're on a budget, you really can't beat the LR UCAs. If you do go with a uniball and live somewhere that sees a lot of salt either from the ocean or salted roads, go for the stainless steel uniballs so they don't pit on you.

OP, if your alignment is within spec and you think it drives fine, I don't see why you'd spend the money on UCAs unless you needed the articulation for off roading.

Only the new camburg 1.25" uniball UCAs tend to rub on some coilovers. They're 1" Ucas are fine

Thanks guys that cleard it up. I need them cuz my tires are like this: \ / obviously not to that extreme but you get the point. thats camber right? I know what toe is but Ive always gotten confused by caster and camber. I'm hoping its also why my truck vibrates sometimes, especially during breaking. The wheel shutters like a mad man.

Yes, that's camber. Your tires are like that because the shop sacrificed some camber to gain more caster adjustment. Aftermarket UCA's would be a good investment for you!

Sweet thanks. Yeah, the tire wear is horrid. lol. I'll probably go with LR UCAs then. Any chance that's the reason for my vibes?

It could be. Aggressive tires can cause vibrations, I wouldn't swear to it though. Your rotors could be slightly warped also, causing vibrations when you brake hard.
