rear break shoes needed.

ive got a 2004 and im in need of some new rear brake pads. What is the best i can get. ive seen crappy pads cause wheel lock or chatter or whatever.

Can anyone recommend a good all around set for my rear drums?

 

Got mine at autozone for like 40 bucks. They looked well built and came with a lifetime warranty. The guy said after they wear out bring me back for a new set free.

I've had them on now for about 1200 and have had zero issues. Ive also taken the truck through some Florida swamp since the install.

Be ready for a GD mess tho if you're doing them yourself. It's not exactly hard to do, it's just a dirty pain in the ass.

 

well i pulled my drums last night and my brakes are fine.

My e-brake cable has a ton of slack in it....
Is there any fix for this? how hard is it to replace if it is stretched?


I ran the adjustment as tight as it woudl go and it still seems like there is about 4 -6 inches of slack in the cable. Pulling the lever pulls the cable enough to pull up the slack but not enough engage

 

Thanks. I took that whole pivot off last night to inspect it. It was fine. I relubed everyting up good and put it back together but still major slack.

I dont get it. I find it hard to believe they could stretch this much
