Nice pics, man. I didn't know you ran a 3/4 elliptical rear suspension! haha :D How'd you like that? Any problems with unloading while cornering on the road? Your build says you've got the 63" chevies now, how do you like those? Sorry for the questions, but I'm planning on picking some 63" springs up at u-pull and pay in a few weeks to replace my current way-to-stiff-for-flexing-with-no-weight all-pro expedition leaves. :D

Yo Dawg, would your old All-Pro Expedition leafs fit my stock '04? Would that be a bad idea?

Edit: I see that they give a 3" lift, so maybe that would not work w/o lifting the front as well.

Yup, they'd fit for sure. But you're looking at about 4.5" of lift. And definatly a lot stiffer than stock. They handle a load really well though. Since they're expedition springs, they're design to only sag one inch with 400-500 lbs

The reason I ask is that I'm in a band again, and haul a bunch of heavy gear around; the stock leafs are marginal for this.

I had Hellwig add-a-leaf helpers on my 2wd Taco, and they worked pretty well; I'm looking at solutions to the sagging under a heavy load situation.

here we go. Ford 9" rear after breaking 5 sets of gears in the stock yota 8.8, 5.13 gears with a detroit hard locker, 63" chevy leafs and custom hangers, sky's front spring hanger with sky's extream hysteer and PSC hydro assist ram and PSC pump. welded front spyders in the f-550 front dana 60 with warn hubs, pico brake lines and hoses, elecrtic fan, TRD supercharger with URD 2.1 Pully, URD Map-ECU2 and cage built by me. wide band a/f by inovations, lots and lots more...........
yeah the elliptical was a bit strange but worked... had it strapped on road... the chevy springs flex like crazy! not a bad ride either... had to make some hangers to use them though.

It's on the west side of 4th street at Osuna. In a shopping mall kind-of thing.

    Great burgers, IMO.

So it looks like I broke something on my truck when I pulled this moron out!

I have a strange noise when taking off from a stop, and a wicked vibration over 40mph when I'm on the throttle, when I'm coasting its nice and smooth. Drive shaft U-joint???? Thats what I'm thinking, but idk, I sell these things not fix them!

Did you slam any rocks during the pullout? What happened?

That's a pretty heavy truck to pull out.

Oh ok, nice! These wouls definitely cure the sagging problem! :D
hahaha nice. I've heard they ride great. Are you running an AAL with them? 3 leaves or 2? Overload? Since you had to move the front hanger forward, do you ever run into problems hitting the hanger on rocks and stuff since it's so much lower than before? Also, how long of a shackle are you running?

No, I didnt slam into anything, but with the transfer case in compound low with the doubler, thats like 3000 lbs of TQ going to the wheels, so I guess bouncing up and down trying to pull that POS out I might have broke something. I talked to the previous owner and he said that is most likely what happened, he also said, that I should only use the winch from now on to pull people out! LOL We tried the winch, but it didnt work. Lesson learned!

True, that's a lot of torque multiplication. Twisted a driveshaft, maybe. :(

Definitely check out your driveshaft and see if there's any play. Also, buy yourself a good snatch block (~30k lb rating) so you can loop the winch cable back on itself and double the pulling power.

My F250 weighed in at 7900 lbs empty when I put it on a scale a couple months ago. I'm impressed that a Tacoma could haul a stuck one of those out of anything!

I don't think I want the rear of my truck 4" higher than the front, though. :D
