Will soon be moving to a province that requires front plates. I'd rather not drill into a nice bumper. Anyone fabbed brackets? Im considering making a bracket that bolts to the front skid. The truck is lifted enough for it to be legal.

Use zap straps/cable ties to the lower grill. There is a bracket too, my buddie has one on his civic, was really hard to find. Its like a L bracket so it can get screwed into the inside of the lower grill.

Double side tape can work, I would recomend 3M VHB tape, can be harder to find but the best tape around. Make sure its automotive/exterior tape (not carpet tape)

I've been tinkering with the idea for a while now, but with no avail.

Ebay has them for a fraction of the price:

Ebay also has the swivel mounts (something I'm looking at):

i think i am going to weld tabs to the lip of the skidplate. Might cost 2 dollars and the plat could be unscrewed before a trail or just bent back if i go through some high snowbanks.

My skidplate idea isnt going to work, its too far back and the cops will ticket me because its obstructed.

don't see what the big deal is about drilling the bumper.. mine had two "dimples" marking the hole locations.. double-sided tape probably isn't going to look too good on your bumper anyway, sans license plate, especially if you attempt to remove it..

Did this to make way for my undercover HWMS, which is on hold now. I didn't mind drilling 2 new holes as I plan on switching to a plate bumper in the future.

Front plates suck. vehicles look so much better without them. And if i get posted to another province that doesnt require them i have some holes in the plastic.

I had a look at where the front fascia mounts to a small subframe. I will pick up a short peice of angle iron, mount it with bolts and then the plate will be quickly removeable. Will post pics when I am done.

Anyone have a good way of filling unwanted holes? My truck came from a dealer in Texas and when I received it from my dealer in LA it had my dealer's license plate frame on the front. I assume the dealer in TX had drilled the holes as their standard practice when they received the truck from the plant. I took the front license plate frame off, but now I have 2 holes in the bumper.

The whole license plate thing gave me the excuse to buy a light bar. I picked up the Nfab bar and used a couple of conduit clamps to hold my plate.

I would hate to have a front plate on my truck. My buddy bent his around the bottom grill and never had a problem. It's still visible.
