do it. or go to ace and see what other colors they have. i know they make a red. that may look better than the black.

1st i sprayed the hole thing. with like 4 coats. i waited like 20 min or so between coats some longer because i fell asleep so it went over night. that i took a razer blade and VERY VERY carefully cut the plasti dip on the little edge wear the side meets the top part. there is a little “lip” i guess you could call it. i spent like 25 min cutting it. i could have done it faster but wanted to make sure i did not mark up the plastic. i did like 4 coats on cup holders as well.

edit: yeah a little different. idk if a 6 speed guy has done it. i think 2 other auto guys have. i was the first not to spray the hole thing.

awesome, I'm wondering about time because I am at school (college) right now and will probably do this in the parking lot one day.

Red would be interesting to say the least, If nothing else, on the emblems....may not necessarily on the grill and bumper, that may be too much red

then again, I may like it on the emblems and do them too

who knows. I will post pictures whenever/whatever I do

I got Soo much Shit for thos on the tw live thread so maybe I shoud post it here.
I plasti-dipped basically the whole front clip. Bumper, grille, flares, under the headlights, and about six inches up the hood. I used the clear. Seemed to work pretty good.

1st coat is really really light!! it takes like 10 min to dry. next coat is thicker and tacks about 10 to 15 min depends on temp. next coats are about the same. hell you could maybe(idk about the 6speed) but i drove 2 miles with out mine and was fine. but i am auto so idk if you can do that. i would not do bumper red. or grill. just the emblems door and ones on back and the one on front grill. one guy did red. saw a guy do orange paint. all you can do is try it and see. don’t like it pull it off. thats whats so nice about it.

ya, for the interior thing, I can pull it off and it doesn't change anything but open a big space up and I lose my cup holders, it isn't covering my shifter like in the autos. I would want to do it all at one time thought

I really think I might do the emblems in red....Or maybe the plasti-dip blue....depending, I am kind of curious how a lighter blue on top of the dark would look

since I can pull it off if I dont like it, I wont worry about doing it

I may also coat the plastic engine cover too (only parts of it), do you know how well it holds up to heat?

oh ok. yeah take about 15 min for each coat. just say 45 min with 3 coats.

hmmm. idk may look good may not. “i think” the blue is kinda close to the SWB in shade. so i think it’s allot lighter. idk how it would hold up to heat. i would maybe ask around more. or contact P/D and ask them.

Its the paint over it I think. I was researching painting over it on wheels because I'm debating doing my rock rings bronze and most of the complaints I saw with painting over it was that it was harder to get off and came off little by little in small flakes.

This is per reading several car forums though, not from personal experience.

Still thinking about bronze rock rings and badges though :)

Thanks for these pics. I'm taking a road trip cross country later this year and was thinking of doing this exact thing to help protect the paint.

Be warned. Put it on super thick as I am having trouble getting it off! Might not be worth the hassle.
