Is the 2012 really different from the 2005-2011 with respect to floor mats?

Fronts have different retention hooks and their location has changed.

I question just how different the design is because i took the weathertechs out of my 09 and they fit just fine in my 2012 minus the retention hook holes.

BUT the pics for the rears on their website for the 05-2011 are different than the 2012 but the model #s are the same.

estimated 14 days to get up to speed. They are working from a single mold at the moment.

They didn't tell me how long. This is the email i received:

"Good Day, please be advised that your WeatherTech order # XXXXXXXX is on backorder and may exceed the 14 day delivery time. We thank you for your patience and are confident that you will be very pleased with your WeatherTech purchase. Thank You."

I've been telling all of the orders I had there would most likely be the same wait.

Look above the pictures on the Weathertech site ... for the 2005-2011 floor liners, it says the picture is of the actual Tacoma Weathertechs. For the 2012s, it says the picture is representative of the product. So those aren't the actual mats. I couldn't believe they were so different in width and depth, because the dimensions of the interior are exactly the same as previous 2nd gens. Then I saw that "representative" note.

Interesting that they moved the floor hooks though. I wonder if that's in response to the whole creeping floor mat / stuck accelerator problem.

More like slow R&D, which isn't a bad thing. I'd rather have them spend a week or two more designing a better fitting product which is why I held out for Weathertech instead of jumping on Husky liners.

Smart move! Patience is a virtue..

Having had both Huskys and WeatherTech digitalfits over the years can tell you the WeatherTech digitalfits are superior to the Huskys and are well worth waiting for. Good to see they have the digitalfits for the 2012 Tacoma now.

What is the difference in your experience? Durability, fit, aesthetics? I'm just curious as I am 100% satisfied with my Husky Liners.

I've had both Husky and Weathertech in previous vehicles, the WeatherTech fit much better.

Husky weren't that bad, just not as nice
