As long as we're talking mods, have any of you installed the Firestone air bags?

I did a search and read everything I could find but I'd like opinions from a more seasoned crew if I can.

It looks simple enough to do but I'm just wondering if the effort is worth the results.

    Thanks.

I have looked into the mod. Seems to fit my need of providing extra load handling without raising the rear end up in heigth. Looks pretty easy for the basic install. I am looking at grabbing a GM load leveling bracket and compressor so I would not manually have to add air.

I have them installed for about a year now...no problems and they do the job for me. Install was not difficult. :)

evening all: never got out ice fishing this year. NO ICE! or at least very little.
maby could have gone once or twice, but the closest lake we fish never fully froze over.
can't say I didn't enjoy this mild winter though.

Morning everyone!! Another nice day on the horizon here - mid-60s. Woo Hoo!!

The tow hitch I ordered shows Out for Delivery on the UPS tracking so I'll have a project for the weekend.

:wave:Good Morning "6" ... Do you have somebody helping with the hitch install...when I did mine I was glad I had my son helping me. Even with him helping, we used a floor jack to support the main weight of the hitch while we pulled on it to line up the bolts. Just a little friendly advice. Ought to keep you outta trouble this weekend! :D

 Mornin' Ken ... Balmy weather for a weekend road trip.

Morning everybody. Thanks for the info on the air bags. I'll probably give them a try. I'm always bringing home firewood from work and, with all the other stuff I haul every day, I think they'll be a big improvement.

On Firestone's site I see two different kit numbers for the Tacoma...2407 and 2410. Mine is an 2011 access cab 4x4. Anybody know which kit is the right one?

I'll try to find the paperwork in my glovebox when I wake up this afternoon. I bought mine (NIB) off of Craigslist locally. I never shopped for it before that, so I have no idea what the differences might be.

Bummer Jim ... That's one of the reasons I'm leaning heavily towards getting a MAC...not as heavily targeted by hackers/viruses as MS due MAC being used by a smaller segment of the general population. Least that's what my IT guy son tells me...

Let me know how they work...

After the way mine rode this weekend, I either need them or another spring --had my bike on a hitch mount rack (plus the other stuff) and she rode real low in the back... not sure if I was on the bump stops or not :)o meant to take a pic but forgot :()

 hope everyone is having a good day.

Sorry about your computer, Jim. I'd go :goingcrazy: without mine

I'll let you know. It should be about two weeks. I'm having the rear spring TSB done first and then I'll put the airbags on.

We're having a series of storms roll through so work is slow...good time to catch up on chores.

Starting to put the headlights back together again. Finished the 4 coats of BSP yeasterday and did 4 coats of clear coat today. I need to remove the masking tape tomorrow and see how I did. Looks great with the tape still in place.

Hi Bob, had the rear TSB done a few years back and was very happy with it. Load the back up and rides great...doesn't bottom out. Stiffened the ride, but it handles great...

    Hi Susan:wave:...

    Hey Jim...We'll miss you...hurry back o.k....Ken

    afternoon Ken

I had the tsb done a few years ago as well and she has ridden well until I loaded her up this time. Not sure if it was because of the extra weight of the bike rack and bike, or what. I meant to take pics and I forgot... I take that back... I did take one....
