First, you probably have a Toyota 8", not 8.4. Also, Pretty sure its a 2 pinion.

    EDIT: I'm wrong! :D

I believe the non e-lockers on 2nd gens are the 8.4" diff, but I can't help on the pinion atm

Yeh sorry looked that up after I posted.

I'm used to the 8" standard in the first gen!

I still say 2 pinion though.

Yes they are well known but there are better options in that Price point . The Pros to this type of locker is they are cheap and pretty easy to install . The down side is the are a little noisey when going around corners . If this was a dedicated Wheeler i would say go for it they work great But for a DD i would suggest something better . I guess the best way to compaire them is to think of them like a Spacer lift VS a real coilover lift

I am not 100% sure on the 2nd gen 5 lug but in the past the 5 lug has been a 7.5 rear not 8.0 . Give Marlin Crawler a call about the Spartin they can help you out there .

much appreciated from all who help. yeah right now im thinking maybe a aussie now, since its basiclly an improved lockright and cheaper. but does the 8" aussie's for the 4runner fit in mine because there are none that states its for the 05 tacomas.
