Its actually a lot easier to get then some people think. It can't be fully auto, have to have a bullet button, no more than 10 round mag, and there are some restrictions on muscle breaks. Those are the main ones you have to worry about. There is tons of info on the interweb on it!

Devin don't listen to this guy.

There are no restrictions on muzzle brakes vs flash hiders if you have a bullet button. Put in a bullet button and you can have all the evil features.

In fact a bullet button isn't even required as long as you remove all the evil features (flash hider, pistol grip, forward pistol grip, folding/collapsable stock, grenade/flare launcher). And...if you remove the evil features you have no restriction on magazine capacity so long as you owned the mags pre-ban.

i was talking about his statement of being "mostly legal"...

no shit it's not that hard to own an assault rife in CA... but when you're limited to a 10 round box... that's just not that fun (after shooting 240B, 50 cal and mark 19s in the military)

That's a joke, cause in cali you HAVE to have a bullet button now matter what, and you have to have a 10bullet rnd mag or less. Trust me, I recently dealt with the ATF/DOJ for these same reason being talked about. And yes, there are restrictions on flash hiders.. . I had to give up my rifle for 2you months cause of this. Just read up on it. It ain't no big deal.

These are all restrictions for the common joe, I don't know much about what any military folks can have...?

And i'm "common joe" not military.

And just in case reading between the lines is too difficult for you, here's a flowchart:

Thats for owners of such rifles that obtained them before the law. Since obviously he is buying he first new rifle, this doesn't include him. This is why handgun sales went through the roof when Obama was elected, everyone thought he would ban them so they went out and bought some so they could b grandfathered in

I've know about 3 things in life.
    1) Guns
    2) Tacomas
    3) Software

    Number 3 pays for 1 and 2.

There's a number 4 also, women. I don't really know anything about women, but i know when you say "I'm sorry, I love you, you're right" and give them a new purse everything always works out.
