I feel like you know all this, but you ask. How much drag brake do you have dialed in? And as mentioned, are you letting completely off while in the air? My preference is VERY little drag, I do all my slowing before the corner, and back on throttle through the corner.

Nice pics, BTW. Also dig the South Florida Bulls hat. Have good buddy that played tennis for them a few years back, he "may" even taught there for a while.

I love jumping the 4wd cars, so much more control in the air. i've gotten used to my 2wd's as well i guess you just pick it up the more you do it.

I never said perfect... I've never owned, even driven a 4wd off-road model in almost thirty years of racing, never even had the desire. I crave throttle control and finese... I'm a old school guy...

nothing has more finesse and throttle control than a 1/8 nitro buggy ;p

Just as soon to have a sharp stick in my eye as to have a nitro anything. I watch weekend and out, the annoying sounding gassers get smoked by li-po rigs...

its a totally different ballgame, nitro has a powerbamd, harder to control. it's fun as hell :D then again, if you can convince yourself that gay electric motor whining noise is desirable then more power to you lol

Exacty on the more power to me... Not really sure what a "powerbamd" is, I'm assuming it's the "fat" part of the output of a nitro engine. And yeah, I like to hear, my gear mesh, my tires starting to break loose, and the sound my model makes landing off of a jump. I also love the FACT that the nitro guys think, cause the're making noise, the're making time/speed...

powerband ;p come on guy, fill in the blanks ;p I'm a nitro guy, and I think that because I'm pretty good at driving that I'm making time/speed ;p i got away from electric 1/10 knowing they were faster in '01, there was a reason for it ;p doesnt matter if I race against electric, they still have to pass me lol as far as hearing all the bullshit going on with the car, if you're paying attention to all that then you're probably not driving fast buddy, time to hit the throttle.

Yeah, I'm a tad anal about my set up, I can even here my diff starting to bark. I've been racing RC cars (not saying I'm great, or even good) since you were shitting in your pants. I am a tad confused by your statement, "I got away from 1/10 scale, knowing they were faster" what are you comparing here? 1/10th vs 1/8?

Ah. The debate. I started with nitro and loved it. The sound and smell of it was great. The cleaning and tuning wore on me a little. The $25 gallon of gas didn't help either. Found myself riding the dirtbike more and more. When the short course/brushless came in I once again became excited. I could set it up how I liked it and plug a battery in. no mess, no tuning. Sound was different, or lack there of I guess.

I absolutely get both sides. But I am so glad I kept my nitro cars. More work but just as fun, different fun.

I bought my scrt10 and loved the 4x4 crazy speed and thought that was the cats meow. Then bought my xxx-sct and loved it even more. It is a total throttle control and all out driving experience. I really like driving it more now, just because it's more challenging and not so much full throttle everywhere.
So it's really like comparing apples to boobs. Completely different. But nothing beats 4th gear wide open jumping over 100 ft. Though it's close ;)

Well put. On a different level, I guess I'll debate with you now, (not really) riding in a bunch of sand all the time has to get boring, right? Grew up riding trails with my Dad and brother with a few uncles mixed in, (1968) and have had some type of bike ever sense. Current is a pig DRZ 400ZSM, with a big bore, Hot-Cams, 39mm flat slide, full Ti Yoshi exhaust. It is what it is, the most FUN bike I've ever owned.

Pismo is about 3 hours from me and ocotillo about 5. Ocotillo is a mix of every kind of dirt you can imagine. It truly is the best place to ride. Unbelievable, never gets boring. I actually ride single track mostly. Going up mountains to sit back and enjoy the view is therapeutic. Would never need any kind of medication. Riding is heaven on earth. Going where 90% of people will never go or see how beautiful this world is.

    I want to ride ;)

Riding in the sand is awesome. You can lean your bike so far over and slide. I think jumping is easier, though you have to be completely committed. And crashing doesn't hurt as bad. Mostly. Getting sand in your pants does suck though.

That was kinda my point, I guess. It's funny to a point, last weeks Supercross is a great example, here if you ride, you've ridden mud, the Cali boys ain't never seen mud like this, and it shows in the results.
