Are you having trouble getting the alignment right? Just brought mine to Firestone because tires are wearing on the outside edges with the camber at .7 positive and it came back the same way. Not sure what to do because I have new tires being delivered today and need this sorted out. I guess I'll have to lower it a notch?

My camber is at +.8 on both sides, I haven't noticed any premature tire wear on the outside edges of my tires. Make sure your toe is right, toe will wear tires worse than camber will. My toe is was set at .05 on both sides when they did my alignment.

I put UCA's in just to get the alignment right highly recommend putting in UCA's otherwise you have all kinds of different problems, went with a set from wheelers offroad think they ran me 420ish well worth the money I believe they were the LR's do a little search I think fat bobs had them on sale for under 400.

Your first mistake is going to Firestone, I've had 2 visits and 2 disappointing drives home.

My experience at firestone wasn't too bad. I go quite often because I bought the lifetime alignment. I'm about to go again next week after I install my kings. :D

BTW OP I am at 2.5 with no problems. Try another shop that gets its share of race/track cars. Usually they know what they are doing.

I'm wondering if this is it. Toe is now .02/.05. Was .07/.07. Camber was .7/.7 and is now .6/.8.

Bottom line, I can't have my tires destroyed in a year. I have no problem lowering it a notch of it would fix the problem.

A few weeks back, I measured the tire wear on a members truck, who had the same Camber, and it was found that the outside tread was 4/32's less than the inside. This is due to the lift causing a loss of Camber/Caster. You need new UCA's to get the alignment right. As for the Toe causing the wear, when the Camber is too much (over .4*) the tires ride on the outside edges like so:

    \------/

This will cause more wear on the outside of the tires, than the inside.

As usual, Chris is right. Spoke with a Toyota master tech and the caster, and it's affect on camber, is the issue. He says he thinks he can get a percent of caster back so I'll get it done tomorrow. Guy is very familiar with this issue.

    Thanks everyone

Keep in mind, the more Caster added, then the more Camber will be added too. So the tires will be even higher in Posative Camber.

you either get camber perfect with shit caster or camber sacrifice with less-shit caster.

either way, buy the new UCA if you want the problem fixed.

I want whatever causes less tire wear. I will have to go with new UCA's for sure. Thanks again.

if you want no unusual tire wear then you're going to have to sacrifice the caster - just tell them to set the camber to 0. but, you will have some wandering. try it out, if you can live with it.. great..

or let it drive you insane until you decide to get new UCA (currently what im doing... :annoyed:)

Sounds like a plan lol! Caster is out a good bit now so no big deal if it's a little more, I guess.

OK so I had the alignment redone and this is totally counter to what I told them (I want camber at 0):

    Camber +1.2/+1.4
    Caster -.08/+09 (wtf!?)
    Toe +.12/+.13

How the hell can you leave caster like that? I honestly think I'm speaking a foreign language. Obviously I need to go somewhere else.

Sorry if I am jumping in here. What would be considered proper/healthy range in camber, caster and toe measurements?

Camber 0, Toe 0, and Caster 2.5 would be about ideal.

Ok, well my camber is at 1.07 left and .98 right. I am now under the impression that this is pretty far from ideal. Given that I have only 1.6" of lift over stock specs, did I get a crap alignment job?
