So I've been talking with Marco from Downsouth Motorsports in efforts to get a new set of KINGs built for my 2nd Total Chaos Kit. While Marco has been real chill and has been working with me on this. He is blown away by the answer he received from King.

King claims you can't run a set of their KING 2.5 x 8" Coilover w/Resi with the 2nd Gen Total Chaos Kit. Marco stated he is lost for words and so am I.

I could've sworn 100% that we have guys on this site with the 2005+ 2nd Gens with the Total Chaos LT kit and King Shocks.

Any of you guys out there have this set up? Please chime in as this is pretty much putting a damper on my weekend.

I'm just really dumb founded right now.

Marco is going to call Total Chaos on Monday as they're closed for the weekend to confirm 100%.

I'm so fucking LOST right now as to why KINGS would state that. I know for a fact EDDIE (SPECIAL K) has the Total Chaos Kit w/KINGS!

I'm emailing MARCO now pictures of Eddies front suspension to confirm. I'm just confused. Marco stated he got this answer from KING "Our Kings will NOT work with the 2nd Gen TC Kit".

I just sent Marco all of Eddies build page pictures of his KINGS and TC Kit. How it mounts and everything. Waiting to hear back from Marco now. . .

    :D

Now I feel better as I know I'll be getting my KINGS on. I was just caught off guard by the answer he received from KINGS. I really didn't expect that.

Just got the answer back from MARCO.

I need a custom King's special O.E.M. Style top mounting plate to mount this.

Just for that small part alone. . . .4-5 Weeks of wait time.

The only issue I would for see is if you are 4wd and the rod ends are their normal stubby ends with flat coil carriers as apposed to the cone shaped.

Anyways, I hate Kings, they aren't that great unless you fork over the extra 1K towards the race series.

I hear you man. We all have our opinions and I've loved my KINGS so far and will continue to run them. I've had others and KINGS have always been my brand choice.

However the cost of KINGS and now the Out of No where cost of these Custom mounts might sway me to get FOX. I don't want to get FOX shocks but I have to be practical. I can't justify the fact that I can get FOX Shocks for $650-$750 and these KINGS will cost me in the neighborhood of $1300 w/the custom mount. Doesn't make sense to me. $$$ needs to go into other parts of the LT kit.

Here is the response back from Downsouth,

    I'm finding out for you...

My guy at King went to lunch. So I'll get a cost from him when he gets back, and then I'll unbuckle my belt, and pull down my pants as far as I can for you on the price. I'll be in touch with you either way on Monday, because I'd still like to run it past Chaos to see what they say...

    Thanks,
    -Marco

Why can't you use the coil hat adapters that came with your kit?

^ This is what Marco got from Kings.

When I had asked them earlier (after your 1st call), they said something about the way the TC plates bolt up, and the shocks hitting them. Also, they said they're not properly clearanced for the hose fittings...but in your pictures, there appears to be plenty of clearance to me :/

I think TC changed the design of their mounting plates, because of the issues King brought up. But, again...I just want to be sure, so that you don't end up in the desert with broken parts!!Cuz that would suck...I've been there.

Marco has been awesome and I told him to enjoy his weekend and we can wait for the answer. I don't need him spending too much time on this. . .

Here are the TC Kit Coil adapters that came with my kit. . .

Maybe its an issue with TC top plates and King in general. Jberry has a 1st gen but had issues with his resi hose hitting the upper shock mount. He has low pro hose fittings now and everything clears fine
