Yep. These people are dolts and they should be reminded often. There is seriously something wrong with these gullible masses whose charitable intention or willingness go no further than their PayPal account or well-worn $500 credit-limit Visa, all to get a T-shirt that says "Look at ME...I care." They wouldn't know what real charity was if it was staring them in the face. I can't believe so many people fell for this steaming load of shit. Well, I guess I can.

Yes, is there rampant starvation and disease in Africa, yes. Yes, is there sex/slave trafficking in Africa still today, yes. Are there really, really bad warloads by the dozens, yes. There is corruption and slavery throughout the entire continent of Africa, and it's been that way for hundreds of years. Reasonably, the only thing that is going to stop those problems are the people of Africa--from within. It has to be an insatiable desire to change their situation. It's an unwavering self-determination that produces successful revolutions, not unlike our own--and not KONY 2012's convincing call for your hard-earned money and for our military's AFRICOM to bite off more than it ever could, or should, chew.

If you KONY 2012 people take only a couple things away from this, please, 1) do some friggin' research on the so-called charity first... 2) know that African charities are notoriously corrupt... they have been for decades (see "419" scams). Preying on the easily persuaded and guilt-felt populations of civilized (and wealthy) western nations. KONY 2012 is nothing more than the "trend" of the day and it will subside. We'll have some other crisis tomorrow, and the t-shirts will look better. Don't doubt me.
