I actually have a jeep now. Imagine that.
I'm baffled as to why its so cheap. There's gotta be at least 20k in it. Truck alone is worth at least 10k

I guess there was. The east as a whole doesn't compare to the west in many aspects. If you like muddy bogging, well the east is wetter and most parks have mud pits. Not common out west. Plus rocks here are totally different than out west. Try reading the expedition threads on pirate. The things those guys consider before a trip is outrageous. They even know how certain rocks and sizes behave under different vehicle weights.

I highly recommend RS4x4's Cruise Moab if you're going to try and put something together for next year. They work with Wasatch Cruisers and put together a top notch event. The only reason I say that's the way to go, is that it's a good way for folks with little to no experience wheeling on that type of terrain to have a really good environment to learn. It's usually the last weekend in April / first weekend in May or somewhere there about.

It's 100% Toyotas, and they're a friendly bunch if you break something on the trail. Paul's point about planning to plan, planning, and then planning some more holds true with that group. All of the trail leaders go out and pre run the trails they're going to be leading so that they're familiar with changes in the terrain, know the lines for vehicles of differing wheelbase and track width, etc. They'll arrange the run groups so that new guys have someone in front of them that has a similar vehicle so they can take the same line, etc. The line for an FJ40 is really different from the line for a Taco, it goes on and on. I was really impressed with it, and would love to do it next year. This year was tough with the wife and I having a 5 month old. I'm hoping to do it as a family next year though.

Lets try to figure out what trails we would like to run while we are out there. Then we can figure out about how many miles the trip will be. My mpg blows.

What do you plan to have done to your truck before the trip? I really really want to have a crawler before I go out there and will have a front locker by then to. Also will probably need to get a winch. If i could get those things I would be good to go.

As for trails, the rubicon is a must, so is moab. Lets start talking about other trails besides those. Figuring out what trails we want to run will be a good starting point.
