I wouldn't get one from a pet store. I'd love to get one from the humane society but $500 is steep.

Shoot! that is spendy for a pound pup, but they have to cover their costs I guess. My mom's friend shows dogs...the prices for a certified, bred show dog are insane. Can't believe what people will pay.

I'm in love with AP's kit. Only kit that's good for the terrain here.

    Napa isn't open at midnight.

I did install a new battery in my truck though, Optima red top. And ordered another battery, isolator, and voltage sensing relay for a dual battery set up.

Why the red top over a Yellow? Yellow would be better for the winch as it'll have a higher amp hr rating.

My second battery is a blue top 1000 CCA battery the deep cycle will work better for the winch and all my lights.

All the research i've done says use a normal battery for starting and a deep cycle for heavy draw accessories.

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
I have some 7.5" u-bolts I just took off if you want 'em. That really doesn't help you right now though, unless your buddy wants to roll around with some serious bro lean for a few days.

Under the hood right next to my other battery. I had to modify the stock battery tie down to work with the optima. there is plenty of room to for both in the same location.
