    Front should take the sme fluid, but without the LS addative. I think it takes about 2.5 qts. Just fill until it comes out of the fill hole.

    Okay so I'm trying to make sense of all of this, I have the locker on my 07 TRD Offroad and the dealer wants to charge me $150 to change the fluids. What is ment by "dino" oil? Is RP synthetic and good to use? And because I have the locker do I need to add the LSD additive or is just the gear oil enough?

    RP is good to use in your diff. You dont need any addative. Your diff holds 3 quarts of fluid.

    Are there any other brands that are better than RP? Is RP sythetic? the reason that I asked about the additive is because the dealer told me to use the "Hypoid Gear Oil" and what is ment by "dino oil"?

    Dino oil is a reference to your regular non synthetic oils. "Hypoid" oil is an oil formulated to work with Hypoid gears.
    Hypoid gears are beveled, so Hypoid oil has addatives to help the sliding of the ring and pinion.

    Most modern gear oils are a Hypoid oil, as almost all rear gears are a Hypoid gear. Hypoid gear oil is safe for use in axels, and trannies with straight cut gears.

    All oils, with their high carbon and hydrogen content, can be traced back to organic sources. Mineral oils, found in porous rocks underground, are no exception, as they were originally the organic material, such as dead plankton, accumulated on the seafloor in geologically ancient times. Through various geochemical processes this material was converted to mineral oil, or petroleum, and its components

    we're burning up plants and dead critters from the dinosaur days!

    Ok even with consumed alcohol, (not me) I have a question.
    I saw the 75/90 oil at Wal Mart, I think their brand? for $14 a quart. It said it was a synthetic blend. Truck has no lsd, just a plain jane stock 4x4. We do tow in the wiinter, truck has 29k. Is this brand ok to use or do you go to an auto parts store with a name brand like you guys are saying here, RP or mobil1. I didn't see any other there but the coffee can looked like it came from there :)

    Good eye! Wife buy my coffee at Wall Mart. Last time I checked, Mobil 1 was about $11.00 a quart. Dont use the Wally World Junk.
