Is that a Mossberg? All I've owned are Rems, but I'm looking to sell an 1187 to finance a home defense gun. I don't know much about the Mossbergs, but I have heard all about their reliability.

    Tell me more!!!

tristar cobra. they have a spring assisted pump. Ive never used one but the reviews are nice. Why not just get a shorter barrel and mag extension for the 1187?

    have fun!

Nope! Like below, it's a Tristar Cobra Force. I'm looking up reviews now to make sure I didn't make a mistake jumping on it. lol  Reviews seem good though. It's turkish made and since it's imported it's limited to 5 2-3/4 rounds. So I'm looking for tear down info to see if I can modify that. lol

It has a spring loaded front end so you can slide it back and let it go. It'll snap forward chambering another round. Not sure if I really like that or not, but I figured it might speed up the next round. Or reduce fatigue for a day of shooting.

This on is a bit different from the sales sites. It doesn't have a picatanny rail under the front end, but it came with a rear site and sling mounts. So it's ready to go with just a few accessories I'll add later (sling, side saddle maybe).

    Thanks! :D

I decided to stop at a local sporting good store while out since the wife had the kids with her. I kept coming back to it so after a call to her about it (since she wants a gun too) I decided to get it. It was $350 so less than MSRP, and a little more than online. But it's in my hand today, ready for tomorrow. :D

My buddy said to get a Mossber 500 (he hates were Rem puts the slide release), but this had the features I wanted: pistol grip, smooth barrel, rifle sights. And it was about the same as a standard Mossberg I'd have to add some of those things to. The slide release is in the same place as a Remington so I didn't like that, but as long as it's not cocked I don't need to hit the button to chamber a round. So I'm thinking it won't be that big of a deal. Only need the release button when it's cocked so I'm emptying the chamber for storage I want my finger away from the trigger anyway.

    One of the reviews http://www.americanrifleman.org/articles/tristar-cobra-force/

Thanks! We'll see how it goes tomorrow. I haven't shot a shotgun in years, and the wife has only shot my .22 (with a bipod) so this should be interesting! I'm just hoping the recoil doesn't mess her back up.
