Got about 2350 back this year.

$100 for the accountant, as usual.

Sitting on it for now. Got some things in mind for the near future...

I got about $2000 back, between 3 states and my federal return. And no CPA/ accountant fees, I just do it myself, not that hard to fill out the forms.

That, in the states, can often set you up owing money at the end of the year, plus possibly penalty fees, if you're not careful.

Maybe it's different in the US , but , if you find you need to pay extra at the end of the year for whatever reason , do you not have a grace period in which to pay without penalty ?

Ya. My forms are just for me. If I had a business I'd hand out money to an accountant like candy!

    Things and stuff and such
I am going to try to do mine this week. My Dad helps me fill mine out. It is not that hard but I suck at following the instructions.

My h/o insurance is going to buy me a new shed/workshop so I will probably get to use the tax return on parts for the 4runner :woot:

Agreed, we usually end up owing the Feds and get an equal refund from the state so we come out close to even. Never figured out why people allow them to hold their money at 0% interest for 12 months.

Mine evened out about right to where I didn't give the gov't too much of a free loan. Owed the federal around $350, got $575 back from state. Came out $225 ahead. Think I will drop my deductions to 0 again so I can get those big income tax checks. I know it makes no difference, but psychologically, I LOVE seeing those big return checks!
