There is a FE seat but, I don't have a fish eye lense on my phone. There is nothing but a table at the FE chair.

    It's a MD11.

Even if I DID agree I would still argue the point.

B767 soon to replace some of the aging MD10s.

    FEDEX

They are really wasting a lot of money with so many different aircraft.

It's not like Southwest that's for sure. Due to each fleet size they do enjoy some economics of scale and due to where they fly, they could not serve all city pairs with only one fleet type. Look at it like this, 727s don't do well non-stop from HKG-MEM and 777s really don't fit the MEM-BNA routes/market.

No but you only need a short range 727, a mid range 777 and a long range 747 and BAM your saving a lot of cash. At least they fly mostly american built aircraft :D

I think you are correct but, with a slightly different fleet mix. I think over the next several years it will be a 3 aircraft type main line fleet.

IMO, they are headed for an all 2 man, 2 engine fleet and it will end up looking something like this:

    777 (replacing the MD11s)
    767 (replacing the MD10s/A300s & some A310s)
    757 (replacing the 727s & some A310s)

Although, it's hard to argue with the current almost 10% operating margin (over 3b estimated in fiscal '12 with revenue a little over 40b) even if it's not meeting the their own goal, it's decent for an airline in the current economic conditions.
