    Personally, I like the expeditions, great spring !! But as a few know, I usually go another route, I'm entertaining the idea of using a 2nd gen. main leaf & building a set for my 1st gen, reason for this is 2nd gens are eyelett to center pin configured, 1st gens are centerpin offset w/rearward facing springs are longer than centerpin to front hanger, the beauty of using "junkyard" springs for rebuilds is 1. better steel & the options for the type of ride/lift are almost limitless...

    I've had good luck so far after over a year of doing this, for fractions of cost, resulting in as good or better results than new. name brand springs

    Here is a quick "mock up" of some springs that would be more geared to hittin' it hard off road as opposed to what you're looking for, not groomed but you get the idea

    Reason I harp about it is because a few years back a friend kinda neglected to thoroughly clean underneath & about 8 months later he was underneath his truck cleaning it up to undercoat (at my insistence) & when he scraped off some of that cement from that salton sea shithole a rusted out layer of bed came off too leaving a couple of holes in it, it looked more like a chemical corrosion thing than rust....:eek:

    I was sure to spend 3 hours under my truck the next day. Ended up with clay in my hair and ass-hair and smelt like the sea itself. What I found worked really well is just taking a beer, laying down on a creeper, and just polishing the frame from front to end. It really gets ya looking into the places you've never noticed and allows you to clear the sand/cement with your hand. It's a good way to inspect the frame also. Takes time, but after hitting like mud like that, it's well worth the effort.
