    Thanks for the offer but I'm gonna bite the bullet and take it to a shop to get the whole thing done. Put it back together good enough to get it onto the trailer.

    It is definately hobbled though. Fucked up that ball joint trying to get it off. :eek: We were definitely not properly prepared for this. It was a humbling experience.

    Yup.

    Could not get the old bj out of the spindle. Even getting it out of the UCA requires an extra huge puller because the UCA is soooo wide in the area of the bj. The "normal" puller we had wouldn't fit.

    I did quite a bit of searching on here before attempting it. A lot of stuff about 2nd gens but unfortunately, there is very little written about 1st gens and the design is very different.

    yea..im not sure what my pops logic is on getting them either lol Im not arguing, im just laughing at the fact i got him into truck moding :D haha

    He is getting a plate bumper, UCAs, and winch now, then sliders and wants a rear bumper lol he doesn't even wheel..yet..

    Ben, how much driving to you plan on doing before you do the AALs. If you do an alignment now you will have to do it again after you do the rear. Even though the rear doesn't get aligned, the height of the rear has a big impact on getting the correct alignment.

    And @ Monte, I never claimed that Discount Tire does alignments. You are confusing me with someone else. All they do is wheels and tires.

    its still a lift which changes it. You still should get one no matter what. I help off on mine till last week since my install..drives much better now.

    Free lifetime balacing and rotations and flat fixes, yes. Alignments, no.

    Anytime you change the geometry by lifting it you have screwed the alignment...even if it isn't noticeable to your eye.
