But wanting a double cab. I could try it, but I've heard it rattles in the factory mount and you have to move the seat and stuff

yeah, factory mount does rattle. gotta rubber band it down or have a bunch of other stuff back there to hold it still and prevent the rattle.

I've got a 4-D cell maglite in the factory location on my DC, and it doesn't rattle around or make a lot of noise. As for moving the seat, well, it's nothing more than pulling the release. You don't need to lift up the seat bottom and fold the upper part flat to access the light. Just pull the seat back a little forward and there it is.

Front 5100s at 1.75. Rear TSB. LoRider tonneau cover. OEM bed mat. OEM bug deflector. Illuminated 4x4 switch. In cab AC outlets. 400W anytime. EGR in channel window visors. Black badges. Rear weathertech liners.
On the floor between the driver's seat and center console. Fits snug, doesn't roll around, and very easy to get to.

How exactly does it mount? Does it involve drilling into the lid?

look at post 18 on the first page. you rill into the underside of the lid, but there are two different pieces of plastic, so short screws/boltsand you won't touch the top of the lid

what do you mean you are afraid of it falling out? if you are talking about the clips... i wouldnt worry about it. if you were thinking of mounting it on your seat, that is what i would do. i wouldnt worry about it falling out:cool:.

What are they and where are yall getting these clips for mounting a small flashlight under the center console lid? I'm thinking about doing this mod.

this is where i put mine. BUT if you were to put it there make sure you put it toward the back of of the seat. (incase you have a shorter duder operating tour truck.)
