    Hater.

    I got 99 problems...

I would have left it alone but the crack the first time was straight across my line of sight. This one's above the sweep of the wipers on the passenger's side, so I might leave it alone for a while. But the rock obliterated the top layer of glass there, it's not just a crack but shattered glass bits. If I took it to a car wash it would throw glass everywhere. Can't decide if I should get it fixed or not. $265 for a new windshield. *Hmpf.* Semi traveling the opposite direction on a two-lane road threw it. And no kidding, loudest rock impact I've ever heard, scared the hell out of me!

yea, I got lucky and my first crack was at the bottom in the blacked out section.

My second crack is pissing me off because it's in my sight line and it's through both layers of glass so it's slowly letting water through

    started small

With 137,000miles on mine, the windshield looks sandblasted. It's a bitch driving into the sun at dawn and dusk. I can't get a stone chip big enough to get it replace with glass coverage and no deductible. I've had stones hit that sounded like a frikken' hammer blow, still no chip.

    Hammer...HMMMM:spy:

Break the ceramic part of a spark plug and throw a piece of it on the glass and see how that works for you. This is purely hypothetical and I in no way condone insurance fraud if that's what you're planning.

Look at his sig... it says: "Philly > Pittsburgh"

The windshield is annealed laminated glass and not tempered like your side windows. The ceramic blows up tempered only.
