i recently order some pro comp 7036 wheels and i was wanting to put 33's on them would a 3" lift give me the clearence i need or am i still going to have to trim alot to keep rubbing to a minimum?
I called 4wheelparts and they said the biggest i could run would be 32's but my factory 265-75-16's are basically 32"
I currently have mickey thompson classic 2's 16x8 with stock size tires and when i cut it deep they rub the inside of the wheel well...
any help would be much appreciated

oh, BTW, the 7036's are 4.75" BS

    Either way,

you'll more than likely need to do the pinchweld mod and some trimming of the inner splash guard, especially if you go with the 33's. After doing so, there may still be some rubbing. Keep in mind, those rims have more backspacing than the stock rims meaning that they actually sit in further than the stock TRD rims which have 4.5" of backspacing. Because of this, if you go with a wider tire, you're going to have to either get new rims with less backspacing or spacers because they will rub the frame and UCA's.

Also, the factory size is 265/70/16, so the ones on there now must have been replaced by a previous owner it sounds like.

Plenty of people run 33's with a 3" lift, it just requires trimming and you may have to get used to some rubbing as well depending on the situation and setup.

It depends on what set up and what 33's you want to run.

I just installed a OME kit with nitro sports, 882s, Dakar spings.
I'm running 255/85s ( a tall skinny 33 almost a 34) on wheelers offroad Type B's with 4' BS and they kick the tire out about flush with the flares. I need to do a little triming but its not bad.

    If you talking 285s (also a 33) I can't help you

You may still have to do the pinchweld mod. The increased scrub radius due to the wider track width causes that.

The trimming and pinchweld clearencing is not that hard to do.

i think im just going to go with a 245-70-17 tire and no lift ...do the pinchweld mod...will i still need to add spacers? or will the wheel, since it is 1/4" deeper BSing, not hit my UCA?

You won't need them if you're going down to a skinnier tire size such as the one mentioned.

FWIW I did a 3" lift using Toytec/5100 (front), Allpro leaf pack (rear) and don't rub ever. I don't really wheel hard but that might require pinch weld mod.. guess it depends on if you wheel or not.

If I put a 1/4" spacer behind my wheel, would that combat the 1/4" that is too deep on my wheels and keep it from hitting my UCA? And if I did put the 1/4" spacer would I have enough threads on my existing studs to have a properly mounted wheel?

UCA rubbing has to do with the BS of the rim. i would not recommend a 1/4 spacer unless it has all new stud on them. the front stock studs are really short already.

with 4.75'' BS, you should get like a 1'' spacer or 1.25''. Allpro or Spidertraxx are the best. Also get extended thread lugs, especially for the fronts!

But if I put a 1/4" spacer on it, the new wheels will set the exact same as the stock ones...am I wrong

Yes but the tire is now 11" wide. 4" BS would be better. Plus there is no spacer that is 1/4" that is really safe to run

Pretty much sums it up, I think you'll always have a little inner frame rub running anything larger than a 32" (when trailing in a turn)

Direct bolt in.im running them but I have them at the lowest setting with Eibach coils.

If you just use stock coils the highest setting is 2.5" or so of lift

OP, I'd do what Monte did using the 5100's set at 0 (bottom groove) & use Eibach/Toytec coils to get the 3" lift...
