If those pics are correct..that's not a base..it has the TRD Sport Package. and definitely isn't black!

Welcome to the club. First off, that truck in the pic looks like a pyrite mica and it's listed as black. Second, the truck in the pic doesn't look like a base at all, looks like a TRD sport. So I don't know, maybe they have their ad messed up? :notsure: Have you looked at this truck in person? But for the one in the pic if it is a TRD Sport 4x4, then I'll say this, I paid the same thing for mine brand new. So chew them down. If it is a base then it's way too high. Either way I'm leery about this ad since the pic doesn't match the description.

If it was a base it wouldn't have the nice alloy wheels, cruise, intermittent wipers, power mirrors, hood scoop, painted bumpers, fog lights, sliding rear window, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, etc etc. The base models' only standard features that aren't traditionally 'base' are the mp3 cd player with aux in and power windows (unless you get a reg cab, where the windows crank down).

DCLB is pretty in that color!

Maybe I can use this ad for a little leverage on the price. Would the 27,984 be high or about right for the Tacoma in the picture with the TRD sport package?

yes it's high, just buy new
    check out truecar.com for pricing
a new 2012 double cab AT TRD Sport, tow package
    dealer cost: 29,844
    invoice: 30,391
    of mrsp: 32,070

just find a higher volume toyota dealer in your area and get a hold of internet sales manager, should be able to buy it for invoice price np.

brand new car, new warranty, new smell, exact color and options you want, you know exactly where it's been compared to 15,000 miles for couple grand less....not worth it imo

Check out my build thread (Beginning of Money Pit)
i went through the same thing. apparantly carfax has my 2005 toyota dblc sb logged as a base. but it IS a TRD off road. it was just debadged. the only way to truly tell is to call toyota and do a vin check with them.
