Will I need 2 alignments?

Hey so my trucks gunna be going in getting the eibachs and lr uca's installed soon and I was wondering If I get an alignment after that is done will I have to get another one when I get new tires a month or two down the road?

Unless something happens in the few months you're waiting tires that makes you think your alignment is off, you shouldn't need another alignment. If you're buying the tire manufacturer's extended warranty, read the fine print. Sometimes they require you to get an alignment at the time of install otherwise they won't cover the tires.

 

idk why they're telling you no. before I swapped my coils for OME's, I was told that the springs were going to settle, and I'd need an alignment a couple of weeks after the install. It depends on how bad the truck feels right after the install I guess... I didn't have them align it after the install, and it wasn't bad at all, then 2 weeks later I got everything re-tightened and aligned.

But my mechanic said that he's known guys that put lifts on their truck, and the trucks would pull to one side like crazy afterwards, until it was re-aligned. But regardless, the new springs are going to settle, and you're going to need a re-alignment down the road- whether its 2 weeks or 6 months later. I'd try to get away without it at first if you don't have much driving to do.

 

Unless you really give the suspension a workout in the first couple weeks, the springs aren't going to settle enough to say so in the first couple weeks. The first time you drive it down a semi-bumpy road, everything will set in place, that's when you want to retorque everything and get the truck aligned. After the install, the short drive to the alignment shop is more than enough to make everything 'settle'.
