I fitted the K&N 77 series and find it way to loud. i was thinking of replacing it with the TRD kit advertised on the group buy. If anyone has this kit already fitted how loud is it inside the cab? Does fitting the filter inside the box reduce the noise?

My TRD Kit is really fing loud even you get above 4K rpms. I mostly just hear the TRD Exhaust before 4K.

The intake is louder than the exhaust.

^ It's like the guys who rip the muffler off their dirt bikes or run straight pipes on their quads so they can be heard miles away. Louder is better...right?

Then they complain when our riding areas are shut down :goingcrazy:

loud isnt always better. im on the highway with 3 people in the truck and i carnt hear the radio. It feels like its ripping the dash to pieces. i like the sound outside the truck but for everyday use i dont understand why people would want it so dam loud. people have told me the TRD one is a bit quieter, i just didnt want to shell out again and have the same problem!

Sounds like your best bet would be to go back to the stock intake based on what you're looking to accomplish from a swap.

it is what it is, and im talking from actual experience and my own personal opinion. It goes through the transmission smoother, it depends what you looking for.
i would rather the bolts remained in my dash rather than on the floor mats!
