Does any know what the options are to locking your bed if you don't want to remove the backup camera on the 09s? It looks like adding a pop and lock will remove the housing around the latch along with the camera.

My issue is I am considering getting a BAK G2 bakflip cover which requires being able to lock your tailgate in order to secure everything.

If I can't lock it without removing the camera I may opt for a hinge-type cover which I can lock from the top and "locks" the tailgate in when down.

I am looking for the same thing but I had an undercover installed today and it secures the tailgate somewhat. But I am sure they will come out with a lock for the tailgate eventually.

TDM - how secure does the undercover lock in the tailgate? Do you feel like your stuff is safe or could you pry it open with enough force if someone wanted to??

Well I just had it installed today but I pulled the latch on the tailgate and it wouldnt move so someone would have to pry with a good bar to get it open. Not sure of the strength of the tailgate but the cover is pretty tough. I figure no matter what you have on there if someone wants in bad enough they will find a way but I am happy so far with it.

Thanks for the info .... I am 50 - 50 right now between the undercover and the bakflip - both seem like good covers.

I saw the back flip myself but with the undercover it seemed more secure and Very Easy to remove and hang on your garage wall. But with the back flip you can flip it back without planning to haul whatever. Good luck with your choice. After I travel with mine we will see if I made the right choice.

You might try an electric lock:

I haven't seen the backup camera on the '09s yet. Do you think you could drill the pop-n-lock so the lens could see through it?

Ya, I did notice that, it says it was for an 05, so hopefully they have worked out the issues for the 09, guess i'll find out in a few days.

I just purchased the Bak Flip and the Pop & Lock 5200. It looks like the lock is to require drilling through the camera to be able to mount it. Has anybody done this?

    Thanks,
    Mike

I don't think the 5200 will work. They are coming out with a new one, the PL5300. It should be out next month. There is also a group buy currently going on as well.
