    skid plate, side steps, bed extender, dynamat, supercharger, Clazzio seat covers
    I drive a 2011 V6 double cab sport 2wd with JBL audio and the Toyota alarm. If I disconnect the battery what kind of surprises might I have when I reconnect it? I assume I'll need to redo the radio presets but what else? From reading the posts on this forum it sounds like disconnecting the battery is recommended to solve various problems. What kind of problems can it create, if any? Thanks.

    You'll have to put on your radio stations and the trip meters on the odometer will be reset. If you leave it unplugged for about 10 minutes it can reset a check engine light temporarily.

    Radio presets go away, that's about it. If you have Sirius you may need to enter in the code again. But I doubt that.

    I've got the Toyota alarm on my '07. Disconnecting the battery is usually followed w/ the alarm going off in your face when you reconnect it, expect it....

    Fun story:

    When the original battery went out, one of the battery internal connections must have almost broken through. There wasn't enough power to run any lights or even make the starter click, but there was this clicking noise coming from under the hood and it wouldn't shift into neutral to push it away from the gas pump (where it died - drove fine there, restart after fill up, dead as a hammer...).

    Finally realized the clicking was the horn attempting to honk (not enough power) and that the gear shift was locked because the alarm was activated. Called my wife, she met me and gave me a jump - horn alarm went off in my face... Reset alarm w/ key fob, shift to neutral (can't start w/ the battery in that condition...), disconnect cables, pushed truck into parking spot.

    Removed battery (clicking stopped), brought to auto parts store where it's death was confirmed. Purchased new battery, bring back to truck. Re-install, horn alarm goes off in face again...

    Fun afternoon.

    if your doors are open when you reconnect the battery the alarm will sound, usually sending your head into the hood, and the hood back down on top of your head

    Not enough.
    You lose 1/2 an mpg every time you disconnect it. So once you disconnect it 34 times you technically have a truck that gets 0 mpg's thus triggering a rocket in space to launch towards Venus while being ridden by a monkey lit on fire...





    You dont want to see the end result.
