Hehe. Hey i built a light bar and was wondering how yours is mounted. I wanna make sure I know what I'm doing before I go drilling holes in my roof or anything.

OOOk, so I went back in today to try and fix my rattles and shore everything up a little. I drilled a hole through the middle of the enclosure and all the way through the bottom of the truck and stuck a bolt through it to stabilize it a little. I comes out right above the gas tank so it a bit tough to get to, but do-able. Sorry I never took a pic of that. But on the driver side I've had a horrible rattle goin and being that I couldn't figure out how to get a hole in the bottom of the truck where I need it, I took a piece of all-thread and threaded a nut and washer up against the underside of the enclosure and another on top to help hold it in place.

The all-thread is just butted against the bottom of the enclosure so make sure its tight or it'll sound like a jackhammer in there when you turn your music up. then just cut the extra off with a hacksaw and put the carpet back.

It's not pretty by any means. I would recommend sanding the wood down good and at least painting it to match the interior. Also some day i plan to router the under edge of the covers to help them set in better. Oh, and there will be a bracket that holds the jack that you may have to grind out, depending on the size of your magnets. I did, and its by far the hardest part of the project.

And I used speed nut clips and machine screws to fasten them down. my biggest regret is not getting bigger ones. I can't remember what size they are, but they don't hold like I think they should, but the do the job. No serious issues so far. Just make sure you measure and get ones that fit the holes well. And make sure you take the plastic frames out when you do this so you can use the holes that are already in the enclosure!

    [IMG](sorry for the crappy pics)

I just put the wires under the floor mat. If you REALLY wanted to you could cut a slit in your carpet to run your wires through. I don't have an issue with this though.

...and there is a hole in the enclosure you can run the wires through. Just pull up the carpet, run your wires, and put it back.

    ... and the finished product.

With the seats down you'd never notice there were subs in there (aside from the serious vibrating on your ass when they're turned on:D). But It's a good idea to turn them off when people are sitting there to prevent any damage.

Amp just sits under the seat (passenger side should work too if you don't like it this way, just reverse all the wiring and stuff)

some other pics of the wiring... in the firewall there's a rubber plug you can slit to run the power wire (not pictured, its under the floor mat there) through for your amp.

If you've got 12's and you want space, I would sell them and get smaller. I have 8's and i've seen it done with 10's but it would be tight. Plus 12's would be too much for that enclosure. It would rattle so much and probly sound crappy. My 8's rattle my bedliner and license plate frame, so it sounds a little retarded outside the truck, but it sounds great inside. If you want some more detail I made a tutorial thread for it. the link is in my sig. check it out.

Yea, 8's is the way to go. I also wanna get 6x9's in my doors and some tweeters. Then you could also get like some 8x8's to go in the back sides instead of the factory speakers. That would pump out some nice bass and sound clear too. What sort of head unit do you have?

Ha, i have a 200$ kenwood. I wanted better one like alpine or kicker, but was pinched for money, like i still am, and wanted my fried factory radio fixed on the spot. I don't mind the kenwood though, it gets the job done, and i can plug just about anything into it.

So I got an itch to do something to my pickup the other day so I picked up some black spray paint and rim clearcoat...theres always something you can do with that stuff. I was never really into my chrome door latches, so I painted those.

Hey, I finally found a good use for that ridiculous pile of walmart bags piling up in your pantry!

And my fender flares had some rock chips so I painted those too.
(its kinda hard to tell much of a difference, but they look better in person)

Notice how in almost every one of my pictures there's a freakin' cat somewhere. Oh well they keep the mice down, and they're friendly.

soon to come, a set of 15x10's for 150$, pretty hard to beat that i'll paint black, and then wait for some 33's to come along.

Had another truck day this weekend. I got up and hopped on the interstate for about 30 miles to pick these up.

$150- I've been told eagle alloys, American racing outlaw series, but idfk exactly what they are. 15x10 with 3.5 BS aluminum rims.

It wasn't until after I got them that I discovered one had about a 1/2" long crack going down from the edge of the bead. I don't have a pic, but it isn't bent, just cracked (don't ask how, I have no Idea). I think a mig welder at school with an aluminum spooler should do the job, and once they get balanced they should be fine.

Cleaned 'em up with a drill wire wheel.

Got a smaller one for touch up.

    Then sandpaper, and paint thinner.
    Before:

    After

About 3 coats primer, 4 coats paint, 3-4 coats wheel coating later:

    [IMG]

(note: i didn't think it would pay to do the whole wheel, so I just did the outside face. Why paint anything but the part you will see?

Gonna get them mounted and balance this weekend hopefully, but i'll be waiting on tires awhile. More pics to come!

I've heard rumors about better brake performance because of a BPV (I think that's what its called) so I quick fabbed one of those. Its ugly as hell, i know, and the holes are a little crooked, but it works.

    Installed

So far i haven't noticed a real difference in braking performance. Idk if everyone else on here is smokin' somethin' or its just me , but i've noticed the B.A.M.F ones move it over sideways a bit too, that might make all the difference, but i'm happy with my brakes, so whatever.

...Well thats the update, stay tuned everyone.

    Next mods to come (hopefully)
-Cheapest set of 33x12.50 m/t's I can find
-Trail gear low profile bumper, or maybe the all pro.
    -fabricate some rock sliders
    -Pro dry air filter
    -Breather extensions
    -1 or 2" body lift
    -Possibly some window tint

Ahhh, I cant think of it off the top of my head. Its just some duplex clear coat I found at oreilly's that said it was meant to protect wheel paint.
