Oh, also had to get the grinder out to remove my trailer hitch lol. Lock pin was seized and the hitch was rusted in

Hey I don't suppose you know how to remove the entire box?? like is it just the 6 bed torque bolts?

 

Yes and the wire harnesses for the lights, bed plug and your gas filler neck

 

hmmm....

Had a brain storm today, taking all that off might be easier to access my fuel tank to put in the new URD fuel pump

 

Getting set up to put in everything at once in one day next week

 

There's a thread on here where the guys where saying it was much easier and faster to move the bed back so they could access the top of the tank

A lot less chance of breaking the straps too

 

I just remember the days of hell I had fighting with replacing the broken pump on my old '95 S-10, but that was rusted everything everywhere, I know this wont be near as big a head ache, but I'd still want to work smart not hard

 

I think this would be the way to go

 

By the end of it, I had to replace the sending unit + a rusted fuel line busted during seperation. THEN to top it all off, the 1st replacement pump I got ended up being a factory dud, had to tear it all apart to put another one in... It was a very angry swearing 2 days.

Also, theres no DIY's about box remove on TW. Might as well document it for a write up as I go.

 

One area my knowledge is severely lacking is tire/rim sizing and fitting. I couldn't answer that to save my life.
