Yea, it works pretty good! Once I've got the cash for it, I'm gonna get some total chaos UCA's and put it at the .85 setting and see how it works. Will also be looking into leaf packs to keep it level

 

Well your going to need some 285's after that! Then you can just happen to pass along the 265's to me....haha!

Cant blame a guy for trying! Did you install your 885's or did you take it somewhere? Wondering how hard it could be since the bils will be at 0 anyways.

 

Bilstein's at 0 or 2.5 wil still need the springs compressed, so regardless of the preload set the springs will need to be compressed the same.

 

Ok good to know. Never had to put springs on struts before. Should be fun! Good thing I got the pops around for this. Hes been a mechanic all his life, so he teaches me all the shit I dont know

 

Haha I definitely had someone else do it. I heard you can't use the handheld Autozone spring compressor for the 885's, you need a wall mounted one for it...but don't quote me on that...

 

You can quote him. The hand spring compressors aren't strong enough for them. They will strip out.

 

Did you the coils from DSM? I got mine there and Marco compressed em and put em on my 5100's for nada. I have compressed coils before with the borrowed one from autozone and it is a little sketch.

 

Yeah I just got them from Marco today. Honestly Ill probably have to wait though. Bills and shit got in the way and dont have the cash for a alignment. Its going to hard as fuck to see them laying around for a couple of weeks

 

Not entirely true mathew, with my 5100's set at 0 I can almost compress my coils enough , by hand (throwing my weight behind it) to put gasket & plate on top & start the strut nut all without a spring compressor......

He is putting OME 885's on the 5100's. Those coils are longer than stock, but yes you are right, just not right here

There are so many lifted.tacomas in SD that aren't on the forums. I see 3 or 4 just on my 2 mile commute to.work in the morning.

 

Im the most impatient person there is.....I had stock coils with the bils out 2.5" and got my truck aligned fine. If I throw those 885's on how fucked up do you think the alignment would be if I didnt do it right away? Im not really lifting much higher (If any at all) than what I already have

 

What kind of shape are your tires in ?? & just how long are you going to put off the alignment ??

 

Tires arent bad....need to be rotated soon. Even wear. Maybe got about 60% left. I probably wouldnt be able to align for a couple weeks.

 

Ha, well if you don't mind a couple tire rotations within the next 2 weeks, I'd say you could get away with it, alot depends on how many miles driven & if you DO decide to do this, I def. wouldn't wait any longer than that, but I understand your impatience....
